Lewis' POV;
"Sir, are you ok?!" A voice called from behind me. I turned around and wiped my eyes, seeing a man running towards us. He knelt down besides Hannah, immediately checking her pulse. I would have helped but by this point I had almost completely lost hope. I would have sunk into depression if his next words were any different.
"She's still breathing.."6 Hours Later; The man had taken us back to his hut, rushing to help Hannah. He had re-wrapped her bandages and had set her on a drip. Now all we could do was wait.
"I'm sorry, I didn't have a chance to actually introduce myself. The name's Dave, and you are?" He asked.
"I'm Lewis, and the girl is Hannah." I replied, my eyes still on her.
"I take it she's important to you. Sister? Cousin? Girlfriend?"
"Fiancée actually.."
"Ah.. I'm sure she's grateful to have you" He commented, smiling. A small smile spread across my face at his comment, my mind running through memories of us.
"I should be the one grateful for her." I replied. The conversation continued long into the night, I told him about the Yogscast and about everyone back in Bristol. He told me that he actually came from Bristol, but decided to go travelling a few years ago.
"I forgot to thank you for saving Hannah, I thought she was dead before you came along." I admitted, placing my hand gently on Hannah's. The smile on Dave's face faded slightly, his expression becoming one of sorrow.
"I couldn't let her suffer the same fate as my sister Sarah. She was attacked by those things too, and I tried everything in my knowledge to save her. I guess she wasn't as strong as Hannah was, those things can kill a person in mere seconds, let alone two of them. You've got yourself a fighter there." He said, a saddened smile on his face. I nodded, smiling back.
"If we get out of here, you should come with us. You could see your family, We could even take you to the offices to meet everyone" I offered, watching his expression closely. There was a long moment of silence before he spoke.
"I think that'd be nice." He agreed, smiling.
In Bristol
Anya's POV;I sat at my desk, head in my hands. Around me, everyone was trying their hardest to act normal, but I knew we all felt the same. We were all exhausted, even the editors and designers. We were struggling without Lewis and Hannah, and we all knew it. Most of the time, myself and Sjin were too exhausted to even talk to eachother when we got home as we knew the issue would just be bought up again. I was close to falling asleep at the desk when shouting began in one of the rooms, followed by a loud crash and another shout. I ran out of the editors room and out into the corridor, where Strippin and Duncan stood. We all exchanged glances, our eyes shifting to Simon's room. Strippin entered first and then Duncan, both of them telling me to stay back. I'm pretty sure none of us were expecting what we saw next. On the floor laid Sjin, unconscious whilst Simon sat against the wall, shaking. The whole office was wrecked, one of the monitors was cracked whilst the other was on the floor. One of the shelves had fallen from the wall, the contents now all across the floor along with random paperwork. I pushed past Strippin and Duncan despite their protests and knelt down beside Sjin. Martyn and Kim were now out of their rooms, both standing in the doorway. Kim approached Simon, placing a hand on his shoulder and whispering to him, trying to calm him down. Strippin and Duncan lifted Sjin up, carrying him out of the room and into the studio, setting him down on the sofa. I followed, sitting on the floor by the sofa. Duncan explained to Sparkles*, who hurried out of the room to fetch something. Martyn walked in a few minutes later, closing the door behind him. We all looked up at him, waiting for him to speak.
"Simon attacked Sjin by accident, he didn't mean to hurt him. He hasn't been sleeping at all and the stress just got to him. Kim's taking him home to make sure he's alright." He explained before the room fell into silence once again. "He feels like he's alone." I added quietly, causing them all to turn towards me, "He thinks he's lost his two closest friends, he's lost without them."
"I think you're right Anya, everyone's been so stressed trying to hold everything together, we didn't even realise Simon was falling apart." Duncan replied. Sparkles* entered the room again, placing a wet towel on Sjin's forehead. I smiled softly at him in thanks as he took his place by the sound board again. Sjin's eyes flickered open, looking around the room at us.
"Hey guys" He greeted, half smiling. I rolled my eyes at him, hitting him in the arm playfully.
"We should probably get back to work," Strippin suggested, ushering everyone out, leaving myself and Sjin alone.
"Are you ok Sjin?" I asked and he nodded, smiling at me.
"Yeah, just a headache but I'll be fine. How's Simon?" He replied, his tone concerned.
"He's at home now, Kim took him. I'm not sure how long he's going to last without Lewis and Hannah, it's only been 3 weeks." I explained, causing Sjin's smile to fade. "It's getting between everyone Sjin, even us.." I added, causing his eyes to fix on me.
"Mints, don't say that! Nothing will get between us, it's tough for all of us right now that's all! As for the others, we'll find a way to fix this. Lewis and Hannah are still alive, I know it." He said, pulling me into his arms. I sighed, burying my face in his chest. He leant down, kissing me quickly before breaking away and approaching the door.
"We'll work this out, I promise."Hannah's POV;
My head throbbed and my side felt like it was on fire. What's going on? I could feel something in my hand. A drip? Why was that there? My eyes flickered open and I could make out a face, but it wasn't who I thought it would be.
"Lewis!" I called out in panic.
"Lewis, your fiancée is awake!" The man called out, putting me into an even deeper state of confusion. Lewis appeared from outside the room, rushing over to me.
"Lewis, who is that?" I whispered, causing him to laugh.
"That's Dave, without him you'd be dead." He replied, and with that Dave waved in my direction. I smiled, though still very much confused as to where I was or what happened. I lifted the covers, to see my vest top rolled up slightly and bandages covering the lower half of my torso.
"What happened?" I questioned, causing Lewis' expression to turn grim.
"After our argument, you stormed off and got attacked by two of those.. creatures. You almost died." He explained, tears brimming in his eyes. I raised an arm slightly as he leant down, embracing me.
"Please don't do that to me again." He whispered in my ear, causing me to smile gently.
"I won't, I promise." I replied, glancing down at the ring on my finger. Lewis simply smiled, kissing me on the cheek and entwining our fingers. I closed my eyes, resting my head against his chest and slowly drifting off into a peaceful sleep.
