Lies

Garroth's POV

After school Laurance came up to me. "Hey Garroth" "Hey" "Can I ask you a question?" "Go ahead" "Do you like Aphmau?" "No, why would you think that?" I hate lying to you but this is for our own good. I know that I'm probably going to hurt you. No, I'm probably going to hurt both of us. "Oh I was thinking that maybe you did" "Well, uh I'd love to talk more but I have to go help my mom with dinner, so I'll have to talk to you later." "Oh ok. See you later" I turn to go to my house and run. Damn it, I should have told him. But I really don't want to ruin our friendship.

Aphmau's POV

As I was walking off to my house, Chad and Kate ran up to me. "Hey, I was wondering if you wanna come over to our house and have dinner? You know, to get to know each other" Chad explained. "I'd love to but I'm gonna have to ask my mom beforehand. Just give me a sec" I get out my phone and call my mom.
After a few rings, my mom answers. "Hey mom, can I go over to a friend's house?" "Is the friend a boy or a girl?" "One of them is a girl and the other is a boy" "Aphmau, nothing better happen or I swear-" "Mom nothing will happen...or will there?" "What was that?" "Nothing. Got to go" "What was that suppose to me-" I hang up on her. "So what did she say?" "She said yes" "Great. Let's go" "Okay lead the way" I said.

After a while of talking with Kate and Chad, it was time for dinner. As we're making dinner, I notice that Kate is having some trouble with Chad. "Why are you looking off into the distance. Is something wrong?" I asked. "It's that I get worried about Kate when she's not around me" Chad answered. "I don't blame you for being worried but why?" "It has something to do with our past" Chad said. "Well what happened? If you don't mind talking about it." "When we were about three years old, we were kidnapped by some enemies of our mom. After two weeks, they finally let us go. Eventually, they got caught by the police and were sentenced 25 years in prison. Kate still has nightmares about it, that's why we sleep in the same room. If you don't believe that, here's proof." Chad pulled up his right arm sleeve. His arm had a scar. "I had more scars than that but they healed. This scar will never heal like the scar on Kate's left hand. She uses makeup to cover up the scar. When she needs to get her hands dirty, she wears gloves. She doesn't want anyone else to know about it, as quite a few people already know. You're one of a few people that know about it. I trust you. I can see the goodness in you." He pauses as he puts his sleeve down. I was horrified that that happened to them "I'm so sorry that happened to you guys" "Don't be, it's made us stronger and you can't do anything about it now. Our Mom said you shouldn't keep living in the past because if you do, you can't live in the present. Dad said it's ok to let your feeling out but to be safe about it" he replied giving me a sad smile. I give him a smile back. "That's a good way to keep your kids safe and somewhat happy. But anyways, let's get back to work" "Alright, no sense in dwelling on the past." Chad complied, getting back to work. A while later, dinner was ready. We ate and talked. Afterwards, I headed home.

Laurance's POV

I eat my dinner and say good night to Cadenza and my adoptive father. I head over to my bedroom and sit on my bed. I go on my phone and put it down after a while. Why do I feel like Garroth is lying to me? He would never do that. Or would? No he wouldn't do that. He's my best friend. I try to fall asleep but I have a hard time trying to. I eventually do fall asleep but only after a couple of hours.

Garroth's POV

I try to fall asleep but I still keep thinking about when I lied to Laurance. I keep telling myself, this is for our own good but my heart is telling me otherwise. I'm so sorry, Laurance. I drown myself in my own thoughts. I slowly drift off, thinking about what I did.

Aphmau's POV

I open up the door to my house. As I enter I saw my mom giving me a nasty look. "Nothing happened right or I swear-?" "Nothing happened mom, I promise" I said. "Oh thank Irene" "You worry too much" I teased. "Well anything can happen and you should know that of all people." I sigh. "Mom, I said I'm fine." I drag myself over to my room, thinking about Kate and Chad. I hug my skele-cat, Huneko -neko. "Oh Huneko-neko. What should I do about Kate and Chad. I feel so bad for them." I squeeze her harder, putting all my sorrows in that hug. "I know. I'll make them some cupcakes." I dash downstairs, heading to the kitchen. I grab the ingredients for making cupcakes. I decided to make them chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting and sprinkles. I make the batter, bake them, make the frosting, put the frosting on and the sprinkles. I encase the cupcakes in wrapping. I put it in the fridge, go upstairs, and drift off happily.
