Dear Diary,
My cousin has made existing almost unbearable. She continues to torment the Salvatore Brothers, and in turn me. Some part of me is saying to get rid of her but I cannot do that. She is family, no matter how much I hate her she is all I have left and I cannot kill her for that matter alone. I have heard word that Klaus is coming so I am taking my leave tonight. Katerina will survive, she always does.
I will see her again.
Raina
I closed my leather-bound diary and looked around the place I have lived for the last month or so. I do hope Katerina survives but if she does not that I will not be too sorry. I went outside, got in the carriage and left Mystic Falls behind me, hopefully for good.
Present Day
I got out of bed and looked at the guy that I accidentally drained. Oops? Kalie was going to kill me. This is the hundredth or so time that we are going to have to move.
“Hey I’m...” She trailed off, smelling the dead corpse.
“Uh, sorry?” I smiled weakly as she came into my room.
“Sorry? Sorry is in Toronto. This? This is...ugh!” She screamed in frustration.
“What else am I supposed to say?” I asked her.
“I know a vampire, he is on a vegetarian diet and he owes me a favor, we will be there tomorrow.” She announced. I wanted to say something but didn’t. It was best not to argue with her right now. I grabbed my duffel bag and followed her to our cars. She had a Ferrari Enzo, I had a 1969 GTO. I followed her down the highways. Then I realized where we are going. I called her mobile.
“I am not going to Mystic Falls.” I growled through the phone.
“You don’t have much of a choice. I know it has a lot of bad memories but you need help.” She said.
“I do not. I am a vampire. I do vampirey thingies.” I said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
“Yeah? Well so am I but I have not drained half as many bodies as you have.” She said before hanging up and speeding up. We got there just before sunset. We stopped at a restaurant called Mystic Grill. We went in and ordered some food. Not that we needed it but it was nice to humany things every once in awhile. Then we drove to where her friend was. I almost staked her on the spot. I returned to the place I vowed I’d never return to 145 years ago. The Salvatore Boarding House.
“Why in Heaven's name did you bring me here?” I yelled at her when I got over the shook.
“You need help. Stefan owed me a favor. Here we are.” She said.
“I’m not going in there. A. They probably don’t recognize me, B. When they do they will more than likely kill me, C. That place has a lot of bad memories. I don’t want to go in there.” I said firmly.
“Tough luck.” She said before pulling me to the door. She knocked twice on the door and I winced on each knock. Damon opened the door, without a shirt on. He was wearing cotton pants that were low slung on his hips.
“Kalie long time no...see.” He turned his gaze to me. I bit my lip and struggled to keep my gaze on his face, not his chest.
“Hi Damon.” I said quietly.
“Raina.” He whispered.
“Rain, actually. I go by Rain now. Trying to keep up with the times.” I said.
“Damon is Kalie and her friend here yet?” Stefan asked, coming down the stairs. He stopped though when he saw me at the door. I didn’t know I was going to cause such a commotion.
