I was reading a book when Katherine came in.
“I need to have a talk with you my dear, dear cousin.” Katherine said from the doorway. I looked up to her.
“Then talk.” I told he
“I did all of this so Klaus wouldn’t think of you and now you just go and hand yourself over?” Katerina hissed.
“I have lived long enough. I’d rather die for someone who deserves to live then let them die. Besides you did none of this for me. If I didn’t somehow fit in your plan you wouldn’t give a flying duck about me. I liked you better as a human, cousin. So don’t give me any crap about you doing this for me.” I hissed back.
“Raina, you were always a good little Christian. You know, until you became a vampire. That kind of puts a dent in your record, doesn’t it?” Katerina said.
“And you were always my favorite little cousin, you know, until you became a vampire. That kind of made you a bitch, didn’t it?” I mocked sarcastically. She just smiled.
“Mama always compared me to you. Always demanding me to be more like you. Don’t see why. You were as dumb as a post. 500 years did you well cousin.” She cocked her head.
“Didn’t you any good though. Still as thick as a door.” I said. She smiled and I didn’t even blink.
“Well, then, let the games begin!” She said. And then she was gone. I inhaled and exhaled deeply.
“You two really hate each other don’t you?” Damon asked from the doorway.
“No, actually, we are the only people that we don’t hate. We’re the only true family we have left. I don’t want to wish her any harm, but if it were too come naturally then I wouldn’t be too upset.” I said, feeling very indifferent.
“You don’t hate Elena, you don’t hate me.” He said softly.
“But I do, not on the outside, not even really on the inside but you will always have something I cannot. And envy always causes hate. You should know Damon, you should know that better than anyone else.” I said. He just stood up and left. I sighed and threw myself face down into the pillow and screamed. Life sucks.
I got up from wallowing in my bed, brushed my hair, and went downstairs.
“I am done with the self pity. Hello Elijah, how are you?” I asked.
“Apparently not as cheerful as you.” He said.
“Oh be quiet.” I frowned, hitting him on the arm playfully.
“I’m silent.” He said.
“No your not, your talking, that is not silent.” I said.
“Your insufferable.” He said, sighing.
“Your inbedable!” I yelled, crossing my arms across my chest.
“What does that even mean?” He asked me.
“Spoilers.” I smiled, sounding like River from Doctor Who.
“Why do I even bother?” He asked.
“Because you love me!” I smiled, hugging him. He sighed and hugged me back. I looked at Elena, Stefan, and Damon, as they looked surprised.
“What like you haven’t hugged an Original before.” I directed my comment at Stefan but letting them think I had actually said it to everyone.
“Actually I haven’t.” Stefan said. Ah, the beauty of Compulsion.
“Sure, let’s go with that. Nice to meet you Elena, I’m Raina, they call me Rain now. I’m your cousin times a million.” I smiled.
