It's a beautiful day outside; birds are singing, flowers are blooming... And yet here I am....
"Bro.... Do we have to do this? We can always just get our education from Goat Mom! I mean..." I'm silenced by a large-mittened hand and a long shhh that lasted way longer than it should have. "Hush, brother, for we are in a place of unknown knowledge!" He beams at his choice of words. I mentally facepalm.
"Bro, that doesn't make any..." he quiets me again with another drawn out shhhh. By the way he sounded toward the end, he must of run out of air. "Don't fight it, brother. Besides, you don't have a choice in this." He's right. It's sad when he's right. True, I'm older and am technically in charge of him, he's taller and could easily carry me back.
"So, Pap," I say, looking up at the large building ahead of us. "What's this place again?"
My brother sighs and stands in front of me, making sure the school's flag was waving behind him. He's so embarrassing sometimes... "This," he starts in his prompting voice. "is Greenleaf Academy! We will be living here for the next few years, using it as a refuge and means of education. We will be getting our dorm shortly. Now, brother, any more questions?" I shake my head and smirk slightly.
This would be an interesting year, I could feel it. He grins. "Great! If that's all, than I, the Great Papyrus, shall get our dorm key!" Without waiting for a response, he takes off, leaving me to follow. I trudge behind him slowly, taking in the view of the hall. It was honestly pretty boring. The walls were decorated with many multicolored paintings and pictures but other than that, there was nothing. Most of the students would be in class right now so there wasn't anyone to talk to except my brother. On second thought, there was nobody to talk to.
It takes Papyrus about 15 minutes to find the office, even with the map. I decide to wait outside the office while he gets our key. "Hello," a feminine voice chirps behind me. I turn around to see a girl with long, light pink hair stepping out of the office. "Are you new here?" she asks.
I nod and she puts on a wide grin. "Ok! You're in luck then!" What was this chick talking about? "I'm Lila. What's your name?"
"Sans," I say, shaking her outstretched hand. Her smile only grows. "Nice to meet you." She pulls a slip of paper out of her purse and shoves it into my hand. "I'm throwing a Christmas party this weekend! You're welcome to come! Listen, I have to gt back to class. See you around!" With that, she takes off. A small smile crosses my face as I look down at the invitation. Why not? It'd be a great way to make friends. Wait...
Just then, Papyrus bursts out the door, waving a similar slip of paper in the air. "Brother! Happy day, I got us invited to a party! We're going to be the coolest kids on campus!" His mojo is ruined as I hold up the same invitation he got. "Good job, bro," I say, smiling. He beams proudly and tosses me a key. "Room B19."
"Hey, Pap," I start down the hall.
"Yes, brother?"
"Isn't it the middle of May?"
"Yes, brother, it is. What are you saying?"
"Why is she throwing a Christmas party in the middle of spring?"
He silences me with another long shhhh and a hug that could suffocate a kitten. It lasted way longer than it should have. "Don't question it, brother. Just enjoy it!"
