He pulls out a map and I try to get a better look, after we've been walking for a good twenty minutes. His hands are so muscular and perfect. The thought slips threw my mind again and I get that feeling. I shove it past me and try my hardest to concentrate. He smirks while looking at the map.
"What's funny" I say into the foggy cold morning my words sounding like a god said them, loud and booming.
"I wasn't laughing" he says still with the smirk on his face. I stare at him and don't say anything.
"We should go towards Manchester and across the train tracks that's gonna be a good thirty minute walk till we get anywhere that's not in the middle of no where." He says
Right I think,I forgot my town is so small and doesn't really have anything with shops or stores until the next town over. We decide to jog to get there faster and I get so tired after a while I trip over my own feet. A little scream stretches out of my mouth but then I'm in his arms. He's caught me.
"Th...thank you" I say in shaky breaths
"We should really keep going, get on my back"
"What"
"Get on my back"
"I can do it I'm fine.." I start to protest but he's already grabbing me and pulling me on his back piggy back style. I don't resist because right as I'm off the ground I feel the pain my legs are feeling. I'm more of a math person than a running one. I drop my head onto his shoulder and watch as the ground zooms past me. It feels like we're going really fast, but I'm to tired to look up. We get by the train tracks and sets me down. He opens his backpack and tosses me a water.
"Thanks" I say my throat feels like sandpaper. I take large gulps and don't even notice he's staring at me until I'm finished.
"How old are you" I suddenly ask.
"Seventeen" he replies.
And that's the last words we say for a while I lean back against the grass and look up at the cloudy blue sky. After a while we hear the train and get up. We walk over to where the train will be stopping and get everything situated. We wait for a bit and then it's here it pulls to a stop and the doors open but no one comes out. I look around and look at Kyle.
"We have to get out of here"he says looking around
"What why it's right here" I say while making my way towards the train. He grabs my arm and then he says "run." I hear two gunshots but they don't sound like regular guns. I run farther and farther away from the train station. I don't look back until I'm not than far away. I notice that Kyle isn't beside me I look back and see him sprinting pumping his legs and swinging his arms, his backpack bouncing this way and that. I look farther past him and see that purple glow around it looks to be people on the ground.
"Let's keep moving" he says scaring me, I didn't even notice he was beside me.
"What happened?"
"They were refugees trying to find anything they possibly could put there hands on"
I glance one more time at the train station that looks so far away. I don't ask anymore questions even though a million are buzzing around in my mind and we start walking again.
