Lauren needed to get things off her mind, she couldn't be cooped up in that apartment of hers that kept too many memories with her and Camila. She decided to walk to a nearby park.
At the park Lauren observed her surroundings.
She saw families, couples. Everything she didn't have.
She also saw a girl. She had caramel skin, long, wavy, blonde-ish hair, hazel eyes and nice curves.
She was singing. More to herself than anything. But the raven haired girl could hear. It was beautiful.
She was beautiful.
After a couple of lines of the song, Lauren could identify it. The song was Emotions, By, Mariah Carey. Wow, she had an amazing voice. Words couldn't describe how soothing and beautiful it was. The girl didn't notice Lauren at first, but eventually she caught her gaze. She saw that the Cuban girl was crying, with bloodshot eyes and a red face and gave her a sympathetic smile. All Lauren could give back was a sad semi-smile. She couldn't bring herself to a full smile because of all the sadness that devoured her. No matter how beautiful this girl was and how the green-eyed girl wouldn't mind waking up to her smile everyday.
Lauren was consumed in thought, but was eventually brought back to reality when her phone started buzzing in her pocket. Ally was calling her.
"Hello?" Lauren sniffled and took a deep breath.
"Hey Lo, so I wanted to talk a little bit about- oh my god Lo, are you okay?" Even though Ally wasn't with the younger girl, she could sense that Lauren was sad. It was a vibe she got, she likes to call it her mom instinct.
"Um. Yeah-not really. Can I just come over and and talk?" Lauren asked desperately.
"Y-Yeah, of course Lo. Do you need me to pick you up? I'm at the studio right now," Ally asked, she was at loss of words even though she knew this would come around.
"No, it-it's fine Ally. I can drive myself. I'll be there in fifteen minutes."
"Okay. I love you Lauren," Then the older girl hung up.
--
When Lauren walked into the studio to meet Ally, she was immediately met by her five year old son Logan running for her and hugging her legs. Just this small action led to a slow get smile creeping across the girls face.
"Hey Logan," Lauren greeted while planting a kiss on the boys forehead then walked off to meet up with her friend. As soon as the young girl walked into the room, she was given a confused look.
"You look happier than you sounded earlier on the phone," Ally said getting up to get a hug from her younger friend.
"I saw Loagn. He always makes me happy," Lauren said smiling again. Logan was a cute kid and Lauren was so fond of him, she could be his mother. But then again, Ally was a great mother, and she was emotionally stable.
"So, Lauren... Are you going to tell me what happened?" Ally asked with a concerned tone.
"Uh, yeah, of course."
The younger girl told her friend everything that had happened in the past couple of days. Lauren telling Camila that she was pregnant, Camila walking out for the night, her coming back the next day, suggesting Lauren had an abortion, and then finally walking out for good. By the end of Lauren explaining everything she was in tears. She tried to stay strong. She tried hold in her tears, she really did, but she couldn't bring herself to do so. The young girl was so broken. She was an emotional wreck.
Ally was brought to tears as well. Lauren was her best friend, and she was hurt as well. She couldn't stand to see her younger friend crying like that.
"Well, I called you down here so we could talk about your new album, and so that we could start writing, but I'm not sure if your in the right state to do anything. And I completely understand that. Lo, if we need to extend the wanted release date, we can. I know this is probably a really hard time for you. I want you to be comfortable and happy before we start anything drastic," Ally explained sympathetically.
"No, Ally. I think this is a good experience for me to write of of. It's fine. I'll start writing tonight," The green-eyed girl said.
"Okay, I'm starving, let's go get something to eat. How does waffles sound?" Ally asked.
"It sounds great," Lauren said, a small smile creeping into her lips. The two girls linked arms and on the way out of the studio grabbed Logan with them and headed out to get some food.
--
Once Lauren and Ally were done eating, Lauren made her way back to apartment. She needed to start writing her song before the thoughts left her mind. Before writing, the green-eyes girl jotted down all of her ideas messily on the first thing she could find. This was the easy part, the hard part would be putting all of the lyrics together.
The young girl spent countless hours straight in her room putting verses together sorrow des by crumpled paper. No one bothered to check in with her. If anything no one cared, but Ally wanted to leave Lauren alone to get herself together.
At around three in the morning, Lauren had a completed song. She was proud of it and titled it 'Fools.'
Ally was awakened by her cellphone ringing, she didn't bother to look at the caller ID, because she knew it was going to be Lauren. No one else would call her this late...or early?
"Lauren Michelle, are you aware that it is three AM and you are calling me and a girl needs her beauty sleep?" Ally asked groggily.
"Yeah, I wrote a song. Meet me at the studio," Lauren simply said. She wasn't tired. She had gotten out of her room every now and then to get some caffeine.
"Lauren, again, it is three in the morning."
"Yeah, but Ally, I really need you to hear this song and I want it fresh in my mind. Meet me at the studio soon, don't bother to get dressed and stuff, we won't be there long."
"You have really inconvenient times Jauregui," Ally sassed.
"Yeah whatever, meet me there soon," And with that the line went dead.
It took so much self control for Ally to not fall back asleep, it's was three in the morning and she was about to die. Not bothering to get dressed, Ally rolled out of bed, scrawled a note to Troy on a piece of paper and then went out to the studio. On the way, the older girl stopped by 7-Eleven and bought some energy drinks and coffee, because knowing Lauren, she said they were going to be quick, but they were probably going to end up staying up much longer.
When the short girl made it to the studio, she straight to be room that Lauren was usually in.
"Let's get this done with, I'm tired."
Without a word Lauren started to sing her song.
(Fools By, Troye Sivan)
By the end of the song Ally was in tears. It was a beautiful song.
"Wow, Lo. That was beautiful," The older girl said wiping some tears away, "I love it."
"Thanks," Lauren simply said.
"But I think you should try it as a duet."
"A duet!? Um with who? If you say Camila, that's not going to work. I'm not doing a duet with Camila," Lauren spoke out. She was not about to do a duet with her ex-girlfriend.
"No, no. Not Camila, Lauren. I don't even have someone in mind, but we should try it out. I'll just need to find someone. Please trust me in this, Lo," Ally pleaded.
"Yeah, sure, okay Ally."
