Emily stepped out of the shower and onto the cold tile floor of her bathroom. Her music was still playing and she hummed along with the song "Lies" by Marina and the Diamonds. She dug through a box and found her hair dryer. Then, Emily began to dry her long blonde hair and go over it with her brush. After her hair was dry she put on a little makeup. Emily only wore makeup on special occasions since she was outside most of the time. Grabbing the curling iron, Emily decided to curl her hair too, she was in one of those moods when she felt like getting all dressed up, which was rare for her. After her hair was curled and her makeup was on she walked into her closet. After opening up some random boxes, she scattered clothes all on the floor. "Ugh. I'm gonna have to clean this up later." She said to herself. Finally, Emily found a pretty floral sun dress. It was a purplish color and was fitted at the top but flowed at the bottom. She removed her blue robe and put on her dress. Looking at her shoes, Emily picked  out a simple but cute pair of tan sandals and put them on. She then grabbed some summer scent of her bath&bodyworks fragrance mist and sprayed it on herself. At last, she was ready to walk down stairs and help set the table.

"It's about time you got down here." Matt stated while getting out the silverware.

"Oh please, I was down here like a minute after you." Emily replied, rolling her eyes. Her and her brother always teased each other and purposefully pushed each other's buttons. What were siblings for?

Annie then joined in, "Here's an idea: how about the two of you help get ready for dinner?"

"I was coming down to do that in the first place." Emily said with a sardonic smile. She could be a little sarcastic and sassy at times but when things got serious she was the one who kept the peace.

A little while later, the table had been set and the dinner had been cooked. How they pulled it off after just getting to there new house that day? Annie was practically a miracle worker. The rectangular table had a simple, but elegant, white table cloth that draped over the edges. There were fancy looking plates and silverware laid out at every chair. In the middle of the table there were many different platters of food to be passed around. David had moved all of the boxes out of the hallway to clear a path. Most of the furniture and decorations were already out, because they had been to the house about a week prior, setting everything up with some movers. They planned on re painting some rooms later on, but for now the house was fine the way it was.

Then the door bell rung. Hannah walked out of the family room and down the large open hallway to get the door. She opened the door with a huge smile on her face like always, "Hello, please come in. I'm Hannah Larson. The rest of my family is inside." Sam, along with his younger sister and mother, walked inside. Mrs. Larson then walked over to greet the guests.

"What a pleasure to meet all of you!"

"Hello, it's so nice to have some new neighbors around here. Oh, I almost forgot to introduce myself. I'm Delilah Grayson."

"I'm Katherine Grayson. You already seem like such a great family. We can't thank you enough for having us over. I hope you like the pie I made. I wasn't sure if you liked blueberries so I made apple pie. Most people like apple pie, so I thought that was the best choice." Sam lightly elbowed his sister. She rambled when she was nervous.

"I'm sure it will be amazing. That is so thoughtful of you. I'll show you to the dining room." The Grayson's followed Annie through the massive hallway and through a large kitchen that had been updated recently since the house was old. The house had some modern updates, but overall the house still had the feeling like it was from another era. Delilah and Katherine continued to follow Mrs. Larson into the dining room, but Sam stopped in the kitchen when he saw Emily. She had her back to him, and was trying to grab a glass from a cabinet up above her. Despite the fact that Emily was tall, the glass was just barely out of reach. He walked up behind her to grab the glass. Crash! The glass fell to the floor.
