Somehow, last night we managed to fall asleep all in the living room and awoke from our slumber around 10 a.m. Everyone was hungover and had things to get done so we decided to eat a quick breakfast together and then they would leave.
All my life I had enjoyed being alone. Being alone brought a comfort to me, but for somer reason once they all left I felt uneasy. Passing it off as just the hangover, I carried on with my very busy day. My plans for the day were to go for a run, finish up paperwork, call my boss, and get brunch with my uncle. Also, the most important thing, to read on wattpad.
In high school, I was on the cross country team and the track team so running almost everyday was a must for me because it was what kept me at ease. Running had helped me on some of my worse days because you get this high off it and it just gives you this happy feeling. I decided to run in the nearby forest perseveres today because the weather was so nice which is very rare for Chicago. As I was running I passed familiar people and the random folks you see walking their dogs, but as I entered the forest path I realized not many people were on it today. As a young girl in middle school I was apart of an environmental group and we always went to these beautiful locations, so I made sure when I purchased my condo in Chicago that it was close enough to downtown, but also had nature near it.
Once finished with my run I hopped in the shower and started my paperwork. The paperwork was simple and just checking things for my boss to make sure they were printed correctly. As soon as I finished up I realized it was getting dark out so I had to get my mail in which I had forgotten about.
As I stepped outside I looked over my surroundings to make sure nobody saw me in my grinch pajama bottoms. My eyes glanced over to a black GMC parked about half a block down and I didn't think much of it since the neighborhood was always littered with cars.
I fell asleep easily that night, not realizing the mistake I made.
-------------------------------------------(monday at work)
As soon as I walked into my bosses office he started to scream "Where are my documents? Don't tell me you forgot them."
Oh lordy, I completely forgot all the events that happened this weekend. I had witnessed a massive drug deal. I also didn't collect the documents Ben asked for. And I had no clue which thing scared me more.
"I am so sorry Ben I must have mixed up the room numbers or something because I couldn't' find the documents." I stated frantically.
"You better be sorry Olivia. Your lucky your one of the best workers here or else I would have fired you. Those documents were for our next big business deal and now that I had the documents late we might not land the deal," Ben stated frustrated.
After Ben had thoroughly consulted me for messing up getting the documents he sent me back to do my job. I worked as a business women at a branch company of a bigger business so it is pretty successful. Mainly, I just do paperwork for the boss and chip him ideas which he sometimes gives me credit for. I continued with my excruciatingly long work day.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once I got home from work I decided to go for a night jog just because I liked to stay in shape. I ran a few miles and blared a running playlist on Spotify and sung my heart out. Once I was a few blocks from home I felt as if someone was watching me. Their behind me was a man in all dark clothing. I decided to stop running to find out who it is.
"Hello, anyone there" I yelled out.
With no response I continued on with my running thinking nothing of it. And fell asleep that night just fine not knowing the events to unfold the next day.
"I'm sorry, but I have no choice but to fire you." stated my ex boss.
"What have I done to deserve this! I'm one of your best workers." I yelled angrily.
"Well sadly, I have no use of you here anymore. So we will be transferring you over to our larger company the Weglarz Inc main hotel. I truly am sorry for the inconvenience," He stated.
I started to pack up all my things from my old office and thought of all the things I could have done to be fired.
Drink too much? Nah. Work too hard? Yep. Try too hard? Yes, defiantly. Kiss that douches ass. Nope. Ah maybe that's the problem. Cause I'm not an ass kisser like all the other women here!
Once I got home I laid out my outfit for the next day. I would start working at the main headquarters of my old company, but it's now where the main guys in charge are. It's a scary place their. Very scary. I already know I'll be fighting tooth and nail for my job. Those men their are so cocky and will probably not want me their. I am a strong headed women though and I'll defiantly fight for my job.
I rested my head on my pillow in my room and looked out my window. I always loved windows because I thought they made a room feel open. Today though, it gave me a sense of an uncomfortable feeling. As if someone could see me.
