Chase
I slowly got up when I heard faint crying coming from the stairs.
I limped to the tunnel door only to find it locked "Okay."
I looked down at my hand balling it into a fist,"Don't fail me now." I reeled my fist back before letting it fly right into the tunnel doors.Everyone was on the floor fast asleep except for Skylar and Emma who she bounced on her lap.
I took the crying baby from her how they could sleep through all this noise is beyond me. As soon as she landed in my arms she was fast asleep. "That's just great,"Skylar scoffed. "She's her daddies girl,"I smiled softly stroking her fat cheeks. No one
"What happened after you brought us back."
"We all crashed literally everyone just dropped I'm not sure what it was but Emma woke me the doors were busted so once I was in I couldn't get back up to you and Bree."
"Explains a lot...actually it doesn't explain much,"he walked with her to the med bay after laying Emma on his bed surrounding her by pillows. "Can you do me a favor,"Chase suddenly asked. "Of course anything,"Her eyes changed to worried.
"The bullets need to be removed I would do it myself but I won't be able to do it right."
"This is not really my cup of tea Chase you could bleed out."
"I'm already bleeding out,"he waved over the small amounts of blood seeping out from around the bullets.
She stared at him for a little while longer before caving going to retrieve what she needed. Chase pushed himself up on the table tugging his shirt over his head. "Okay I got the-,"her voice got caught in her throat when she turned around. "Ugh I'm dying I'm dying,"Chase sighed dramatically before popping one eye open to smile at her. She smiled a little less nervous. "Ready,"she but the edge of the tweezer at the base of his first wound. "Aren't I always."
He gasped lightly as the cold metal dug into his meat stratching it's surface. "I-I don't feel the bullet,"Skylar whimpered. "Go deeper it's a bullet it's not going to be at the surface,"he gritted out through pain. She pushed deeper and he could hear the clink of metal against metal. "Good Okay Okay now pull it out."
"I can't it's stuck."
"Turn it away from any blood cells so you won't puncture it," Chase voice was calm putting her ease. She slowly turned the bullet dislodging it from whatever it was caught on pulling it straight out. Chase fell against her huffing out small puffs of air. "First one down,"she blushed dropping the heavy bullet in the dish. "Okay,"he sucked in a deep breath and Skylar lowered herself in between his legs to get the second bullet. His eyes were on her she was pretty that was for sure. She pulled the bullet out tossing it in the tray but she didn't stand and Chase never looked away from her. She smiled patching up the wounds. Slowly she inched her way up to him settling herself in between his legs kissing his lips gently. The taste was foreign to him he didn't kiss back it wasn't right. But he let her kiss him not quite understanding what was really going on. He wrapped his hands around her neck before pulling her back gently,"Skylar what are you doing,"he asked softly. "I'm so sorry."
Chase laughed, bringing tears to her eyes,"We both know that your no were near sorry."
"I'll just finish patching you up."
"No I got it from here but...thank you Skylar for everything."
"Your welcome,"she said with a sad smile moving away from him reluctantly backing up to the door. "And Skylar,"He called. "Yes Chase."
"I'll have to tell Bree about this."
"I know you will." At this she left leaving Chase to finish patching himself up.
