One or the other

Chapter 2

You sit in Starbucks chatting about your lives with Dan and Phil when Dan looks at Phil and says "I urmm have to go grab something for a friend, you guys stay here I'll be back in 10 mins." Phil smiles at Dan and Dan grabs his jacket and leaves. Phil turns to you and asks "So do you like Dan?" You reply saying "Of course I like Dan, I wouldn't be spending the weekend with the two of you if I didn't like him." Phil says "No I don't mean as a friend" and looks at you wondering if you've caught on. You tell him "oh what? I don't know. He's nice but." "But what? Would you prefer a more muscly guy I'm really strong you know." He says flexing his arms. You smile and look down at your cup and start to fiddle with it. Phil changes the subject and you carry on talking until Dan gets back. When he gets back Dan is carrying a white bag and you can't see through it. Dan smiles at Phil and asks if your ready to go. You both get up and leave. On the way back you ask Dan what's in the bag and he says oh it's ... A present for pj it's his birthday next week. You reply "look at you buying presents more than a day before needed, fame really changed you." They both laugh and conversation carries on until you get to the apartment. Phil opens the door and says "and now we have to climb the stairs of doom." You climb up the stairs and Phil opens the apartment door. Dan asks what you want to do and you suggest that you play a board game. Phil gets exited and says "ooh which one should we play I have: settlers of catan, King of Tokyo, tokaido, smash up or lords of waterdeep." You look at Dan and say "I don't mind you guys choose you know best." Dan says they he and Phil haven't played Lords of waterdeep in ages. We could play that?" Phil nods and starts to set it up. You start walking to the kitchen and ask if either of them would like a cup of tea, Phil says no thanks and Dan says I'll make one you relax and follows you into the kitchen. You say it's okay but he insists and tells you to go unpack you can put your clothes and stuff in his bedroom. You put your left hand over Dans' shoulder and with your right hand you push his hair back and look into his eyes. He looks up at you. His eyes  are dark and mysterious, you feel like you could stare into them forever. You wish this moment would never end. Dan gets embarrassed and looks down at the floor. You pull your hand away and go and get your stuff. You walk into Dans bedroom and instantly see your old pal the butt chair. You drop your bags down on the bed and walk over to the piano. You start playing boulevard of broken dreams but stop as you hear Phil say that he's finished setting up the game. You decide to leave unpacking until later.
