Chapter 1

"Grasha, hoy, kanina ka pa tulala dyan..." Rona nudged her friend who was staring off into space, her fork just absentmindedly poking into the salad she was eating for lunch.

"Huh?" Grace responded to Rona.

"Sabi ko, kanina ka pa tulala dyan. Confirmed nga na tulala ka,' natawa si Rona sa nakita nya sa kaibigan. "What's up?"

"Nakita mo ba yung nakausap ko nung birthday party ko?" Grace put her fork down and put both her hands under her chin.

"Sino dun? Ang dami mo kayang nakausap nung birthday mo," kumunot ang noo ni Rona.

"You remember when we first to the dance floor tapos iniwan kita at pumunta sa bar?"

"Yeah, what about it?"

"Well, the real reason I left you was because I met a guy."

"Not surprising," Rona rolled her eyes. "Pero what is surprising is ikaw ang lumapit?"

"Well, kilala mo ko, Best, I don't just sit around and wait. He was staring at me, so my curiousity was piqued."

"So anong nangyari? If I recall correctly, you came back alone to our table."

"Oo nga. Eh ang sungit ba naman! Excuse me lang, ha! No one has ever snobbed me like that before!"

"Seryoso?" namilog ang mga mata ni Rona. Totoo naman kasi na walang pang nagsungit kay Grace. 

"Well, forget about him. He obviously doesn't know who you are. Hindi nya kilala kung sino talaga si Grace Sasha Asuncion Benitez."

Grace pouted. "But that's the thing. Kilala nya ako! And I quote, 'I know who you are, Grace'."

"Nakakatakot naman yan, Best."

"Honestly, hindi naman ako takot...I'm more...livid! I mean, sino ba to!"

"Wait," Rona smirked. "Is livid the right word? Sa sobrang interest mo sa lalaki'ng to...baka iba na yan ha!" Rona laughed.

"Well, I will be very honest with you, sobrang gwapo naman talaga nya. Mr. Handsome nga ang tawag ko sa kanya, kaya lang, ang rude nya."

"Grace...don't tell me...you find his rudeness sexy?"

Grace rolled her eyes. "Yes," she huffed.

"Wala pa kasing umaayaw sa yo and now you find it hot?"

"Gah, kill me now, but yes!" Grace groaned.

"This is so not you, Best," sabi ni Rona in disbelief.

"I know!" Grace screamed, but calmed down when she noticed several heads turn in her direction. 

"But there's a perfectly good explanation for this crazy phenomenon. I'm simply interested in this Mr. Handsome slash Mr. Sungit simply because I have to turn the tables on him. Aba, hindi naman pwede na palalampasin ko lang yun."

"Eh how sure are you na makikita mo ulit si Mr. Handsome?"

"I don't. But I'm gonna make sure that the next time, ako na ang magsusungit sa kanya."

"Weh? Akala ko ba you're turning a more mature leaf now that you're 27 na?"

"I will...after I show Mr. Sungit not to mess with Grace Sasha."

"Hay naku," Rona laughed again. "Good luck, my dear friend. Good luck."Rona raised her water glass and Grace followed suit and clinked her glass with her friend's.
