Target 15 - Unexpected Visitor

Main Situation

At break time, you are approached by an old man on your way to the hospital cafeteria.

"Excuse me, young (lady/man), do you know where this ward is?"

The old man shows you a piece of paper scribbled in doctor's handwriting.

Seeing enough of that handwriting, you are able to make out some letters and numbers easily.

"Ward A 305?"

"Ah, yes, yes... I'm visiting my grandson. Could you show me the way?"

With plenty of time to spare, you decide to guide the old man towards his destination.

After screening the fourth floor of the main building, you finally found Ward A 305, which is a single patient ward. Inside, there seems to be a young man lying on the bed.

"Gran...uf..."

Although sick, the young man seems to be all smiles.

"Take it easy, there."

The old man fluffs his grandson's pillow up, allowing him to be more comfortable.

Not willing to disturb their family time, you are about to head to the door when the young man starts to speak directly at you.

"Hey, have we met before?"

You stop in your tracks, thinking the same. The young man does seem familiar but from where?

"It's me, remember the office? I'm James."

"The office? Could you be Writer's colleague?"

James looks so different from his former self that you could hardly recognise him.

"I'm sorry. I- How are you?"

"Feels like I got shot in the knee but still going strong. Haha..."

James grins, with his face clearly etched in pain.

"My grandson. Strong indeed! Like his parents."

The old man pats James on the back, which causes James to bend over in pain. Ouch.

"Excuse me."

A nurse interrupts as she makes her way to front of the bed. She flips through James' file before disappearing as quickly as she appear.

Suddenly reminded of your own work, you decide not to stay any longer than necessary and prepare to leave the ward.

"I must be on our way, Mr...?"

"Yamada. Yamada Kobe. Though I would like to talk for awhile, if you're free at the moment."

"Mr. Yamada, I-"

"Followed and attacked, is that correct?"

Huh...?

Mr. Yamada flashes out a name card to you.

Kobe, Yamada.

Yamada & Co.

Containing your surprise, you slowly nod your head.

"Bold but foolish. It's dangerous, finding a missing person on your own."

Is Mr. Yamada talking about Ms. Nissa?

"How did you know?" you ask cautiously.

From his bag, Mr. Yamada takes out a file of documents, labelled with the words, 'Nissa Valerie'.

That's her name! Ms. Nissa's full name!!

"Mind answering a few questions about yesterday?"

A. Yes - He probably knows something that you might have missed out. ( Head to Chapter A )

B. No - You prefer not to involve others in your own investigation. ( Head to Chapter B )

Chapter A - Yes

"Yes, I'll answer them."

"Good, first question."

With one question after another, you take your time to answer them honestly.

By the end of the 'interrogation', Mr. Yamada seems satisfied with your answers. You've earn an ally.

"Anything else?" adds Mr. Yamada, implying you have something else to share with him.

"I'm doing this on my own. So, my answer is no."

You state your refusal to cooperate. There's no need to include anyone else. Even allowing Midori and Writer to know about it, is a hasty mistake on your part.

Mr. Yamada could only accept your decision, citing he will continue his case with James once he gets better. He tells you not to speak of this conversation with anyone and wishes you luck on your own investigation.

So, he's looking for Ms. Nissa too.

That thought alone makes you wonder if you made the right choice earlier.

Shortly after leaving the ward, you spot someone strangely familiar at the hallway.

Huh, isn't that...?

As you went closer to get a good look, that person catches sight of you.

?!?!

Did... did that person just start running away?

"WAIT!"

You shout desperately, as you chase after that person down the hallway.

Out of breath, you slow down, only to collapse on all fours at the bottom of the staircase.

That guy... is that r...really

A familiar throbbing pain stabs the back of your head.

Not now. Go away...!
