(Hirano x Reader) Highschool of the Dead

Getting out - Part 1

You and Takagi wait for them to run past and then you start running in the opposite direction. You look behind you quickly and drag Hirano as he lags behind a little bit, he stumbles as you take his hand but quickly carries on running. Blood is splattered on the walls and the floor and a few zombies still lurk around the corridor. "Will you two hurry up!" Takagi demands looking behind. As she does Hirano quickly lets go of your hand.

"We're coming." You dodge around the corner and run down the stairs close behind Takagi. "Where are we going?" You finally ask as you hop to the bottom of the stairs. Takagi goes flat against the wall and you walk out to look around the corner.

"If you're going to attempt to be sneaky and look around at least do it sneakily." Takagi pulls you back and you fall into Hirano who catches you.

"Are you ok?" Hirano stands you up properly and you nod, your face turning as red as your hair (your hair is red in this incase you didn't know (just imagine your hair red)). "Takagi, this seems like a weird question but, do you have your phone on you?" Takagi stops looking around the corner and stares at Hirano.

"I'm an A* student, why would I need a phone?" Takagi continues to look around the corner as if looking for an escape route.

Hirano turns around and faces you, his face a little pink. "How about you, do you have your phone on you?" You pat your pockets before shaking your head.

"For one it was dead but I think I lost it on the way here." You rub the back of your neck nervously. "What did you need it for anyway?" Hirano puts his hands together nervously.

"I- I was going to ring the police." Takagi abruptly turns around and sighs.

"And what do you think the police are going to do Hirano?" Hirano shrugs and looks at his feet. "You're not going to be the first person to think of ringing them, and how do you know if there is any police left, for all we know they could have turned." You process what Takagi is saying and realise that she is right.

"Yeah, I mean look at how quickly our school has gonefrom no zombies to a school full of them." Takagi carries on looking around the corner before you hear a moan behind you. "We better get moving." Takagi looks up and runs out, you and Hirano follow closely.

Zombies in the hallway start to turn around and swarm towards you. "In here." Takagi grabs your arm and you grab Hirano's arm and you all fall into the classroom. "Lock the door behind you." Hirano runs back and quickly locks the door.

"Done." You lean against the table and watch Takagi pace.

"We need to find a way out of here." She pushes her glasses back up her nose.

"Yeah, but there's a problem, we're in this room and the only escape is the door that has a ton of zombies behind it and we can jump out of the window otherwise we'll fall to our deaths anyway." You say stressed out. You look at Hirano for some help but he seems too nervous to even talk.

Zombies start knocking on the door and you back away. "Hirano, you're good with guns, right?" You turn around to him and he nods panicked. "Is there anything here that you could use as a gun?" You ask and he looks around.

"Yes!" He shouts excitedly and you watch what he's doing while watching the door to make sure it doesn't get knocked down. "I can try but I'm not sure." Hirano starts taping things together but you're more concerned about the door getting broken.

"Hirano! Hurry up!" Takagi screams backing onto a window.

"Okay, I'm done." Hirano holds up his handmade gun right as the zombies burst through. "You're goners." You stand behind Hirano as he shoots them all down with ease.

"Takagi, will you stop screaming!" You shout and she stares at you menacingly. "It's annoying."

"Yeah, like you can talk you annoying bitch." You turn around and clench your fists, just so you dont slap her.

"Can you girls stop arguing, it's making me uncomfortable." Hirano says over his shoulder while he's still shooting.

After Hirano's finished shooting zombies he turns around. "Takagi, will you take that bag." He orders politely.

"Why should I? Why can't (Y/N) take them?" Takagi asks back.

"Maybe because you should start doing something." You answer folding your arms. Me and Takagi really don't get on. You think while watching Takagi reluctantly pick the bag up.

"You should at least take something." She shoves something into your arms and you take it moodily.

"Come on, let's go." Takagi leads you all out into the corridor and you and Hirano follow hastily. You know that Hirano probably feels awkward around you because he likes Takagi but you both don't get along.

"Takagi, can I ask you a question before we leave?" Hirano quickly adds and you look at him confused. "This is the same question to you too (Y/N), why are you sticking with me?" You and Takagi look at each other then at Hirano. Personally you don't want to answer the question but Takagi doesn't hesitate.

"Because I'm such a nice person." She flicks her hair and peeks around the door watching for anymore zombies.

"What about you (Y/N)?" Hirano faces you and you stutter for a bit, not wanting to sound mean but not wanting to sound like you love yourself.

"I... I just think it's be fun to be with you guys." You smile nervously and close your eyes, not wanting to see Hirano's reaction.

"I'm ready now!" You open one eye and notice that you're facing nothing and spin on your heels to see Hirano in the middle of the corridor, his handmade gun shooting at the zombies.

You run for the door and look out Takagi also watching. "Hey, (Y/N) just to make things clear, if we're going to be stuck together then we'll need to be nice to each other." Takagi looks at you but you carry on watching Hirano, not wanting to make eye-contact.

"Sure, but that doesn't mean we're friends, it just means we won't be at each other's throats." You agree and so does Takagi. "Hirano, let's get going." You run to the stairs but Takagi slows down.

"Before we get out I want to test something, it means we'll have to go downstairs for a bit and we've got to be quiet." You and Hirano stop and turn around before you both nod and run down the stairs.
