(Hirano x Reader) Highschool of the Dead

Getting Out - Part 2

You and Hirano crouch behind Takagi as she wets a cloth and throws it at a zombie. "What the hell are you doing Takagi?" You hiss at her but she puts her hand out as if to tell you to shut up.

"I have a theory that I'm testing to make sure that I'm right. It could literally mean life or death so if I were you two I'd stay quiet." Hirano seems scared as he listens to Takagi so you place your hand on his shoulder and he jumps a bit before smiling politely. "If you saw then the zombie never flinched which means it can't feel anything, yet if I were to throw it against the locker next to it..." She wets another cloth and throws it at the locker the zombie's walking past and instantly it attacks the locker. "...it attacks the locker. I think that they can't feel any pain but they can only hear things."

"If they can only hear then why is it attacking a locker?" Hirano asks calmly and you take your hand off of his shoulder.

"Well, I don't think that they can see either because if it could then it wouldn't attack the locker and would instead carry on walking after seeing there was nothing there." Takagi picks up the bag she was given and runs past the zombie. You skid on the water after her and Hirano follows you, grabbing your hand to support you and you turn around with a smile on your face.

"We're going outside?" Hirano asks smiling nervously as he rubs the back of his head. "I kinda- I hate walking." He admits and you nod your head in agreement with him.

"And that's why you're so fat!" Takagi shouts at him causing him to flinch. You go to raise your arm to place on Takagi's shoulder but you stop yourself before you make a show of yourself in front of Hirano. "You need to exercise more!" She puts her finger up and you look over Hirano's shoulder at the zombies that were slowly gathering behind him because of Takagi's mistake of shouting.

Hirano raises his gun and shoots them down one by one while you and Takagi stay back and watch as you're unable to do anything to help him as you have no weapon. "Why are you killing them if we need to test on them?" Takagi whines angrily and you sigh and roll your eyes.

"You could help me kill them you know?" Hirano states as he looks up at Takagi then stares at you for a bit.

"You big fat idiot! What do you think I have you for!" She clutches the bag closely to her chest while you walk over to the glass showcase of trophies, seeing if one seemed like a good weapon.

"The gun is almost empty." Hirano looks down at his gun while Takagi screams extremely loudly at him about it not being her problem even though with Hirano not being able to shoot you could all die so it is her problem. "But they're right behind you... see." You step away from Takagi as a zombie closes in on her. She screams a deathly scream and as Hirano tries to shoot it nothing comes out of his handmade gun. "Shit, I'm out." 

Takagi falls to the floor and you're unsure on what to do. There's almost no way you could possibly save her with no weapon but there was also no way you could just watch her die, even though she annoys you a lot.

She throws what she can at the zombie but is remains unfazed and carries on heading towards her, one step at a time. Suddenly, without hesitation, she pulls out the drill that was in the bag she carried and shoves it into the head of the zombie and turns it on, causing a whirlwind of blood to fly through the air. She doesn't turn it off for a while, just to make sure it's dead and probably because she's angry.

Takashi, Rei, Saeko and Miss Marikawa all run onto the scene, three of them with weapons who instantly charge at the zombies that start to surround you all.

After the quick killings of zombies you all watch Takagi as she cries while kneeling on the floor and you walk backwards into Hirano who puts his arm around your shoulder and you lean onto the side of his soft, cushion-like chest. You all introduce yourselves, even though you know everyone, and try to keep the spirits positive, yet Takagi has to go and ruin it by screaming at all of you, not that you were paying much attention to her as she goes on and on and the way it's all about her. 

As you watch her fall to the floor, weeping like a baby, you realise what you're actually in for the first time and even you start tearing up and Hirano hugs you and makes you feel safe.

I'm the worst at updating this book it's just that I have a few mock exams coming up soon and I have a lot of coding at school to do for computing. Sorry for the bad chapter as well -_-
