Butterflies in her stomach, and support-sign in hand, she walked over to his family.
"Hey Mrs. M!" she greeted his mother. "Where's munchkin?"
"She had a gymnastics meet today, but she really wanted to see you today. Maybe you and Logan could take her for lunch at McDonald's afterwards. It would give me and my 'hubby' some time together?"
"Sure thing," she said, grinning. Logan loved spending time with his family and so did his little sister. Not that she didn't. There's always room for ice cream, it just fills in the cracks.
"Oh, looks like the game is starting. I see you brought a sign?" Mrs. M. said with a grin.
"Yeah, I was hoping munchkin could help me hold it..."
The ref blows his whistle and the game starts. Logan starts on the bench but eventually plays on-field. After an hour and a half of game time, his team wins by twenty points against their rivals, the Tigers. She runs over to congratulate him and he grabs her and twirls her around, planting a soft kiss on her lips.
Pulling away she says, "You did it!"
"Well I couldn't have done it without that fabulous sign you created." He smirks.
"Oh shut up."
"Hey bro, who's the chick that you just smacked lips with, huh?" one of his teammates asks.
"Oh," Logan blushes," this is my uh, girlfriend, uh, Sophie."
"Well, you've won in more way than one-if you know what I'm saying!" number 27 winks at Logan.
"Bro, not cool! That's my girlfriend you're talking about and you know we're Christians." Logan punches him in the arm as the others just gaze at the girl.
"Well it was nice meeting y'all. Logan, we need to go get your sister from your dad. Your mom wants us to take her to get McD's so that your parents can have some time to talk. We need to get there early so we can get her 'diabetic emergencies bag' out of the truck." She says quickly, hoping to get out of the awkward situation.
"Alright. Well, see you guys later. Good game," he said, taking the hint that she clearly was uncomfortable by his teammate's remark.
