Papyrus sat on the couch, his posture lazy and his hoodie wrinkled. His brother, Sans, was in the kitchen at the moment, making tacos for lunch.
Pulling a pack of cigarettes from his hoodie pocket, he lit one up and puffed on it. The scent and heat relaxing him.
He sighed, knowing full well he should've been outside rather than in the house smoking, but it had been such a stressful week.
He actually got that stupid machine in the back to work again. But only for like, a couple of seconds. He somehow managed to turn it on and it beeped and shook, but nothing really happened- or, maybe something happened? He wasn't sure.
The people of Snowdin thought they heard something erupt over in the forest but no one found anything. So everyone gave up searching. He, however, really wanted to figure this out. He did like science after all and he was determined to get it to work again.
But for now, he decided he'd go search the forest again, where 'something' had apparently erupted a few days back. It was his responsibility after all and if something happened to their world because of his mistake- well, he didn't want that.
Putting the cigarette in the ash tray he went to tell Sans he was going out.
"Sans, I'm leaving, ok."
"Aw what!? But whose gonna eat all these tacos." Sans held up the clearly burnt tacos with a whimper.
"Don't worry bro. I'll eat some when I get back... see ya." Papyrus walked to the front door.
"Wait! Papyrus!"
Papyrus turned back to face Sans, "What is it?"
"I'm coming with you! Where are you going!?"
"I- uh... I'm just going for a walk in the woods. Believe me, you'd probably get bored..."
"What!? But why!? Don't you remember the thing that erupted a few days ago! What if something's out there!"
"What? Are you scared?" Papyrus teased.
Sans stomped his foot at the remark, "THE MAGNIFICENT SANS ISN'T SCARED OF ANYTHING! I just don't understand why you would want to go out there, knowing that there might be some crazy thing wondering around, and not to mention- You're lazy!"
"We won't know until we go look."
"But everyone already looked and found nothing!"
"So, why are you worried that we might run into something?"
"I- Wel- ERR! FINE!"
"Heh heh heh... I thought you'd see it my way." Papyrus remarked.
"Ugggh... As long as you're doing something productive, then I guess it's fine! Besides! You'll have me to protect you too!" Sans winked at him.
"Heh. Yep, well let's go then" They walked out the door.

~Underfell 3 days ago~
"S-Shit! Brat had some fight in em after all. Almost got us caught there... with his screaming."
"SIR! YOU'VE KILLED HIM! You lied to us!" The crazy one was mad.
"Can it! We can easily find another weak monster for you to fuck with..."
"Aw! but I was looking forward to fuckin with this one! What a waste!" He remarked.
"Sans! Sans! WHERE ARE YOU!?" a faint voice called.
"SHIT! We gotta ditch the body and fast!"
The two other guys stood there shocked. If Papyrus got a hold of them, then...
"DON'T JUST STAND THERE YOU IDIOTS! HELP ME! GET HIS SOUL! I GOT HIM!" They placed Sans's soul back where it should've been. No magic seemed present within the soul, a sign of death coming.
"Look, we'll just throw the body over the hill or something. Then if Papyrus finds him; He should be dust by then and no one will know what happened. We'll get off scotch free." The main guy stated.
"Great idea! Lets hurry!"
They dragged Sans' body, deposing it over the hill, a thud. There was a sudden bright flash afterwards .
"What the hell!?"
"Don't worry, he just turned to dust, that's all..."
"But... I've never seen something like tha-"
"Look, lets just get the fuck outta here before o' big bro comes and kills us!"
Not anther word was spoken, they took off running, not even looking back or feeling remorse for the small skeleton that they had tortured for nearly 2 hours.
~~~~~~~~~~~~About 15 minutes into the escape...~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They kept running, the main one suddenly stopping in his tracks to think of where to go next.
"Ok, well, I think we've covered enough ground here, so let's just go ahead and head back to the bas-"
"HEY YOU PUNKS! STOP RIGHT THERE!"
They turned around met with the sight of someone tall in armor- Covered head to toe. Shit...
"U-UNDYNE!?"
~Meanwhile...~
"SANS!... WHERE ARE YOU!? PLEASE! YELL AGAIN! I CAN'T FIND YOU!" Papyrus yelled, being scared was an understatment. Sans had quit screaming before he had made it to where he was.
He desperately ran towards the direction he thought he had heard the screaming coming from, not finding anything.
"SANS! PLEASE! I CAN'T FIND YOU!"
No response...
"SANS! THIS ISN'T A JOKE! COME ON! YOU'VE GOT ME SCREAMING HERE!"
No response...
"COME OUT NOW! I'M NOT KIDDING ANYMORE! THIS ISN'T FUNNY!" He continued running, seeing only white.
No response...
"SANS!... Sans!... NO! I won't accept it! SANS! ANSWER ME NOW!" He stopped in his tracks.
No response...
"I-I... I can't... SAAAAANS!?" he desperately yelled, his voice falling silent.
But nobody came...
He stopped in his tracks, trying to pull himself together. He just had to think. He would find Sans. There was no other way, not if The Great Papyrus had anything to say about it! He took back off into his search.
"SANS! I WILL FIND YOU! I PROMISE!!! JUST HANG ON!" He hoped Sans had heard him and wasn't already a pile of dust. He couldn't just give up. He had to keep going; For Sans.

Damn it! This was a little too short... but I have other plans for the next chapters so, I hope you enjoyed this because I didn't!
AND YES! UNDERFELL IS LIKE A FEW DAYS BEHIND UNDERSWAP! DON'T ASK! IT JUST IS! WOOP! IT'S WITH ALL THE DUMB RESETS AND CRAPS!

Also I don't know why but I felt like when I introduced UsPapyrus and Sans... I felt like people would be screaming and all like, "HELL YES! TOOK LONG ENOUGH FOR THEM TO SHOW UP!" XD I just had to add it in!
(Ramen now; I've realized that I have hated literally the past 6 chapters, including this one! T-T)
