City lights were like the sparkle in your eyes when you looked at me
As if I am the most beautiful lady
Like I'm the only one you see
You are the song I sing in a happy morning
Exquisite and so overwhelming
I see you in the cup of chocolate I drink every breakfast
I see you in every happy faces I see
I see you like the stars I see when I wake up
I see you in the small café we used to visit
You're the only one I see
How long would it ever be?
Moonlight shines in the terrors of the night
Reminds me of your loving presence
You lit up my darkest hours
And witnessed all of my despairs
You said you love me when I hated everything about myself
You said you need me when I was feeling worthless
You said I am the greatest when I felt I am the least
You said I am your everything when I see my life like a crumpled paper
A blank page
An empty sheet
A non-sense piece of trash
But then I remember
You said you love me when I hated everything about myself
Every flaws
Every ugly things about me
Every mistakes I've done
Every battles I've lost
You were there when I felt so alone
You accepted everything that I am
You embraced the whole me
You listened to the murmurs of this voiceless organ
I still see you in my dreams
I still see you in my nightmares
I see you in every faces of the crowd
I see you behind me in the mirror, staring at me
Saying you are sorry, by your eyes
I even see you in the absence of the light
Through the silence of the night
In here, I see you!
I can see you're crying
Wishing we could only turn back time
Regrets wrapped with our deepest sighs
It's like we love each other
But we're too afraid to dare
I dare not to ask
And you
dare not to speak
Maybe something's not meant to be fixed, by now.
But how long should we wait?
I think we should just let the fate
The story of another us, re-create
You used to be the song I sing in a happy morning
But now you're the tears in my pillow each and every night
You used to be the moon who lit me up
But now the daylight comes and this poem has to end
Because you left me without a word!
And I am so torn
Because you left me without a goodbye
And now you never leave my mind
You left with just a stare
An irresistible stare
A stare as if I'm the only one you see
A stare as if the only one to be blamed is me!
A stare as if our love for each other's never been the same
A stare as if you wish I had never came
City lights were like the sparkle in your eyes when you looked at me
And now, the only one you see is me
I can see the city lights that used to sparkle in your eyes, fading.
