I readied myself early the next morning.
I chose to wear a maroon tee paired with jeans and chucks.
'this will do' i told myself.
I don't really care how i look like when i'm with my friends.
At around 9:00 am, i went down to grab some breakfast.
When i got to the dining area, I saw mom and dad already having their breakfast.
"Good morning, mom. Good morning, dad."
I kissed them both on the top of their head as i greeted them.
"I saw you and Aaron last night before i went up to sleep. You both looked too serious. Did you have a fight?"
Wow. What a great way to start my morning, dad.
I better tell them now. Anyway they'll soon find out.
"Okay. Mom, dad, Aaron and I broke up last night."
"What? Why? What happened?"
As expected, my mom is hysterical.
And with my dad's reaction, i know he's waiting for me to say who decided on that.
"I broke up with him. I told him i could only love him as a friend. But were good. Actually he's gonna pick me up at 10"
"B-but why? How could you do that to him, Corin? He's such a sweet, charming guy. You shouldn't have let him go!"
Oh. My mom loves Aaron so much. She even asked him to call her 'mom'.
"Let them be. They're both mature now. They know what to do. And didn't you hear what she said? She doesn't love Aaron."
My dad always supports me with whatever decision i make.
Its the same reason why i don't have to keep our relationship from them.
"Dad. You heard it wrong. I do love him. But only as a friend."
"Whatever. Just hurry and eat your breakfast. I'm sure he'll be arriving any moment."
I took a cup of coffee and two loaf breads. I really don't have the appetite right now.
I went back to my room to brush my teeth right after i ate.
Just as i wiped the toothpaste on the side of my lips, i heard a soft knock on my door.
"Corin, hurry, Aaron's waiting for you downstairs."
"Yes mom. Coming!"
I applied a light red lipstick just to add some color on my pale face then grabbed my bag and left the room.
I can hear Aaron and dad talking as i walked down.
"I'm actually planning to apply for a summer job, sir."
I wonder what are they talking about.
"Ah! There she is!"
Their heads turned towards me as dad exclaimed.
I was shocked.
To my surprise, Aaron is wearing the same shade of maroon i'm wearing.
"Couple shirt? Oops! Sorry."
And my mom still managed to tease us. Great.
"Ahm.. Ah.. Hi!"
I ran out of words. I felt awkward with what mom said.
