After The Colony

Chapter 1: Expansion

In the year 2032, man landed on the planet Mars for the first time. After that, the human race saw the true beauty of the solar sytem, and was determined to colonize it. But only a few years after the landing on Mars, the theory for a warp drive came to light. For decades, work on this warp drive diverted our attention away from the stars. In 2079, it was complete. A warp drive that could get you to the very edge of the solar system in as little as an hour. It was a revolutionary invention. This way, human kind could colonize anywhere in the solar sytem. The invention of space warp generators Allowed ships and colonies on small space rocks to have artificial gravity, as well as planets with lower gravity, like Mars and the dwarf planets. Only two years later, in 2082, Mars was officially colonized. Over half a century passed, and whole cities, built under massive glass domes, were constructed on it's surface. Around that time, the dwarf planet Ceres and the moon were being colonized. This gave birth to the UTF, the United Terrestrial Federation. This was an orginization of all the colonized terrestrial planets in the solar system. Soon after that, more than a century after Mars's colinization, space stations were built into rocks in the asteroid belt, around Jupiter, in the rocks in the rings of Saturn, and around Neptune. This gave birth to the OSU, the Outer System Union. This orginization consisted of everything colonized in the asteroid belt, to Neptune.

Only a couple years after the 200th anniversy of Mars's colonization, the two unions began to fight over control over the planet Venus. They didnt have the technology to allow a person to survive on it's brutal surface, but once they did, they wanted to have control over it. This was all because of a theoretical element that was detected in the planets core, which for some unknown reason, the UTF and the OSU really wanted. No wars broke out, but there were some controversies. There wouldnt really be reason for there to be a war until technology to allow people to live on Venus was invented. But until the year 2482, everything stayed still, except for a war against a terrorist group called the "Order Of Sol" in the early 2300's.

But on the 400th aniversery of Mars's colinization is where our story takes place, with an impending war, and a small team of asteroid miners who are thrown into the mix of things. It wasnt their choice, but - well, just read, and you'll see. just to sum it up, they will be brought to places like the farthest edges of the solar system, and to the very surface of Mercury.
