You gripped onto the railing of the bridge as your legs dangle off the side. You look down and see the bustling river, filled with boats carrying people leisurely enjoying the day. So fucking stupid... you thought. When you saw people like that, relaxing, no worries on the world, you though it made you sick. When really... you were jealous. Growing up, you never got to do things like that. Boating with your family, laying out on the beach, laughing. These were all just lies, you thought..
Getting lost in your thoughts, you didn't notice the person standing behind you...
"Uh.. Hello?" they said. You turned around to see a tall guy about your age looking down at you with a puzzles look on his face. "What are you doing?"
"Nothing.. None of your business. Go away." You turned back around.
He looked hurt. "I-is there something wrong?" he stuttered. He seems afraid.
You didn't know what to say. After a moment of thinking, you decide to tell him. At least someone should know how I die... "Uh... Yeah.. kinda," you started to say.
He sat down next to you.
~His POV~
I always walk by this bridge. Everyday when I walk home from school. I never walked across it, never looked at it. It was just some blocked-off bridge that led to a dead end. I don't know why, I don't know how, but this particular day, I decided to take a walk across it. That's when I saw her.
As soon as I saw her, I knew what she was doing... She was going to jump. I saw the look on her face. I saw the pain in her eyes. She needed help, fast.
I sat down next to her.
"So... What's wrong?" I asked her. It sounded stupid when I said it out loud, but I had to start somewhere, didn't I?
She took a minute to respond. Tears started rolling down her face. "I just want it all to end," she choked, "I just want my whole miserable life to end."
I blushed. I didn't know what to do. I've never been in this situation before. I took her hand, looked her in the eyes and said, "Tell me everything."
