Band Camp Romance

First Kiss

It's been about two days since Samuel and my date and we haven't talked. Grace would not stop asking questions about that afternoon and it was kind of nice knowing someone cares about my love life. Practice was starting so right after breakfast I headed down to sectionals and was surprised by a hug from behind me. I swung around supposing it was a robber, but swung around to the beautiful image of Sam. "Hey" he smiled. Oh, that smile. "Hey" I said breathlessly. "I was going to ask you.." He trailed off. "Ask me what?" I questioned. He took a deep breath. "I wanted to ask if you wanted to spend free time with me at the pool." I was excited. I tried to keep just a smile, but I couldn't. "I'd love to" I said. His eyes just opened with surprise, like I was going to say no. "Great, just meet me outside the band hall after and we can go." "Alright" I smiled and the two of us walked into sectionals. I sent Grace a quick text.

I saw Sam smiling in front of the hall doors like he said and we took each other, hand in hand and walked to the pool. We got into our swim suits and were shocked to see no one there. A lifeguard wasn't there so we just climbed in the hot tub. We talked about our home lives and our friends at home. Somehow we got onto the topic of first kisses... Sam was telling me about this "hot girl in 8th grade" he kissed during a basketball game. It made me feel uncomfortable. I never kissed someone. "Oh well I.. Um... Never kissed anyone before" I stammered. He seemed shocked. "But your gorgeous." I smiled. "What does it feel like?" I asked. He smiled. "Like this" and leaned in with his arms gripping to my shoulders kissing me. When he finished he smiled a huge grin. "Why don't you tell me, what does it feel like?" "Amazing" I managed to say giddy with joy. This would make Grace scream!
