Her Past

*Destiny's past will come to the light*

No One's POV

    Do you know the feeling from when you were younger, and the "boogeyman" would come and scare you? That's how Destiny felt at this moment. A feeling she has not felt in years. Thousands of thoughts were going through her head. "Destiny!" She heard Zoe yell and grabbing her arm. Destiny just turned and cried into her best friend's shoulder wishing this was all a dream. "Hey, what's wrong?" Zoe said with worry, she has never seen her best friend like this ever. Destiny just shook her head, she couldn't bare to tell Zoe about her actual life. "Destiny, your my best friend. No, your my sister tell me what is wrong. Your scaring me." When Zoe finished, Destiny just burst into more tears. How do tell someone about the horrible things that happened to you. Zoe pulled Destiny into their rental car, locking the door just incase someone came in. "Destiny , whatever is going on with you must be serious. Tell me please, we are suppose to trust each other with anything. Do you remember our best friend oath?" Zoe said, smiling due to Destiny finally smiling even if it didn't bring out her dimples. Destiny wiped her eyes and sighed. She didn't know were to even being telling Zoe about her real past. "Ok. But you have to promise not to tell anyone especially Nate. Promise me." Destiny said, holding out her pinky to Zoe. Zoe grabbed Destiny's into hers and nodded. Destiny nodded and took a deep breath before telling Zoe about the past that has haunted her since she could remember.

*Into Destiny's haunting past.........*

    January 3, 1994, Jacksonville, Mississippi. The day Destiny's life took a turn. Destiny was born prematurely, life threatening prematurely. Her parents weren't the best people. Her father left once he found out her mother cheated on him. He didn't care to know if she was his or not. After that her mother began drinking and smoking, almost as if she wanted to kill her unborn child. Destiny was born with one kidney, temporally deaf and only weighing barley even 5lbs. To say it's a miracle Destiny is even living today, does not even cut it. After her birth, her mother was arrested for child endangerment. Destiny and her older brothers were sent to live with her grandparents on her father's side. They took them in as their own not caring if Destiny may or not have been their granddaughter. Those were the best 5 years of her life until her grandfather died and her grandmother developed severe Alzheimer's. Destiny and brothers were sent to a foster center in Nebraska. In Nebraska, Destiny met Zoe they became friends after arguing about if unicorns were real. Destiny's life was stable she had a home with 7 other kids, including her brothers.

    After her brother's 8th birthday, they were adopted. The family willingly allowed them to see Destiny. But she felt like her last remaining family was taken from her. For a 6 year old this was incredibly hard and confusing. She didn't smile as much at home. Only smiling around Zoe or when she got to visit her brothers. Destiny was later moved into a foster home, with a lovely man and woman who had a son a little older than herself.

    Destiny was never adopted by that family, but the kept her seeing how close her and their son was. Their son Ashton was violent and had a bad temper. When they were younger he would hit Destiny but later apologize. She never told anyone fearing Ashton would be mad at her. She did not want to lose Ashton, he was the one that made her smile again. The two grew closer as they got older. Ashton developed feelings for her, but she didn't feel the same. One night when Ashton's parents were gone for the weekend. He called some of his friends to bring him some weed. Ashton was smoking it, when Destiny walked in. He asked her if she wanted some, she just shook her head no. Due to her brothers telling her never to do it, and she promised something she never breaks. But she saw Ashton get mad she just told him that she was gonna shower and go to bed.

After she left the bathroom, she saw Ashton in her room. She asked him why he was here. They weren't allowed in each others rooms if his parents weren't home. He did not answer her but grabbed her and kissed her. She fought him off her and yelled for him to get out. Angry he grabbed her again, ripping off her towel in the process and throwing her on the bed. She fought him as much as she could but, he was stronger than her. He hit her telling her if she kept still it wouldn't be rough. That night Ashton raped her she was only 13, that night was the day Destiny took a turn for the worst. For the next 3 years, Ashton would force himself on her whenever his parents were gone, which was majority of the time. She began cutting, drinking and doing drugs. No one noticed, due to her keeping it a secret. No one knew what Ashton was doing to her until her brothers came over one weekend to pick her for the weekend. They knew were the spare key was, they called her name but no answer. They walked inside, going into Destiny's room. They saw their baby sister getting raped and crying. Their world went black, in a second Ashton was pulled off her and being hit by her brothers. They swore he would be paying for this. They wrapped Destiny in one of her robes and took her home. They finally got to see what was really behind the "happy" mask their baby sister wore. They took him court but lost the case due to Ashton's parents knowing the judge personally. Destiny was in recovery for the drugs, cutting and alcohol use, and filed for Ashton to never be around her. She never told Zoe or anyone besides her brothers and their parents about what happened. She kept that part of her past sealed and locked off afraid, for her "boogeyman" to come out of the dark and get her again. That is until now......
