Part 1

Love at first sight?

I was at home, getting dressed for my first day of high school .I couldn't decide what to wear, and I was very nervous I wore a lace shirt with blue light jeans, a choker with a flower, and a cardigan with brown boots. I wondered what everyone would be like. I knew my good friend Elizabeth would be there ,and my cousins ,but really I knew I had to be confident ,and make the right decisions even when I have no-one to defend me.

Everyone said I was a nice, smart, beautiful girl, but really I didn't think so. I knew it was normal to have negative opinions, but this year I wanted to get to know the real me. I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't get close to any boys .It was pretty hard when I first walked in the door. I forgot what is was like to live in the suburbs, and I was super nervous until I found Elizabeth in the office asking for her schedule.

"Hey Elizabeth". I said Waiting for her to answer. "Hey Mia!" .She said excitedly before asking me a ton of questions about my summer. As soon as we both got our schedules I looked at our classes." We have Math, and Social Studies together" I said. "Yeah" she answered. As we walked I saw my Homeroom, and as soon as I walked in I saw few students. It wasn't my first time going to a public school so I  soon as I sat down, I knew some students would come in a few minutes later. I looked inside my book bag so I wouldn't have to worry about being stared at by the soon to be filled up desks/chairs.

Teachers in the past called me a sweet, but quiet (quiet at times) student. This year that would change. This year my goals were to try out new things, meet new people, get closer to friends, and be an even better student. 2 minutes later the seats were filled, and our homeroom teacher told us we could go. I was a clumsy girl at times, so I tried my best to get to class as quick and as swiftly as I could. I noticed some girls stare in a surprised manner as I walked down the hallway, I felt confident as I walked down the hallway I saw Elizabeth, and waved. My class was 3 doors away from where she was, and I saw her talking to a tall girl with a green shirt with dark blue jeans, and Jordans. I didn't want to be late for class so instead of walking up to her I decided to head into class. I stepped inside, and as usual saw 6 more students than when I was in homeroom. I saw a sheet of paper listed with few instructions.

As soon as I finished answering the questions, and I quietly hummed I murmured silently, "Good thing I'm in the back no-one will bother me. A couple minutes later I saw 4 guys come in and 1 that looked to be the leader sat near me, while the rest scattered sitting near girls who were smiling as soon as they sat down. Soon the boy near me looked over and said, "Hey I'm Jason", and smiled. "Tamia, but you can call me Mia if you want" I answered back. "Cool" he answered."

"Are you-".As soon as he started talking our teacher said, "Welcome class, I'm Mr. Harris, and I'll be your science teacher this year". "Whoever you're sitting right next to will be your partner for the rest of the year." "Yes!" he whispered .I was kind of worried, because I was worried he was a bit of a slacker, I wasn't one of the girls that did all of the work.

Soon class was over, and I was the 7th person to exit the room. I heard fast footsteps, and as soon as I turned around I saw Jason and my eyes widen.
He totally surprised me "Hey,"he said. "I smiled mumbling a 'hey'. "So, are you new to this town"?

"Yeah" I said lightly, "Kind of, I've been here for at least a year and 5 months, but it feels like 2 years. "Oh, because I've never seen you around here. "Yeah." I giggle. "Well, I'll see you at lunch. "Bye".

It was lunch time, and I looked around for her brown hair with purple highlights. I soon spotted her. As I walked over I saw 3 girls talking to her. "Hey Elizabeth" I smile. Then the two girls, including Elizabeth looks over. "Hey", she pats the seat next to her and I sit down. "Mia meet Sabrina, and Brittany. "Hi, I smiled. "Hey, how long have you known Lizzie"(Elizabeth)? They questioned. "About two years." I answered. "Nice." As I looked over I saw Jake, as soon as I saw him he look over to me winking, and turned around. "Are you entering any sports or clubs? I asked them. "Soccer, Allison answered." "Volleyball, answered Erica."

"Cool, I wanted to try Volleyball and soccer." What about Cheerleading, questioned Lydia.'' "Yeah, what about Cheerleading, said Isaac with a cute smile. "Well, I'm not sure about that." Isaac and one of his buddies sat down, and left Sabrina, and Brittany suprised. Jason introduced us to his best friend Isaac, and I introduced Elizabeth, and my two new friends.

Lunch was over, and I started to hum "Wildest Dreams" by Taylor Swift. I got a pen, pencil, a notebook, and planner. I was heading to class when a boy with a comic book, pen, and a few other things dropped his books. I stopped to help him, he reminded me of someone I used to know. "Thanks, he said worriedly. Yep, I answered him back. "Are you in this class too?" "Yes",he answered. "Nice, he answered right away ."I'm Aaron",he said the guy with dark-brown hair. We went inside, and we couldn't spot our teacher, until she started to quote Shakespeare...She explained what we would be covering this year, though we did no work in class she gave us an assignment, we were supposed to explain what we were hoping to succeed in this year.
