Charms
Windsor Locks. A small town in Connecticut, where I live. Everything changed in 2027. When our world litterely became all electronics. Our president is a robot... And as fun as this all sounds, it's brutal. Every tiny thing you can think of changed in its own little way because of electronics. Everyone has atleast one servant in their home to do EVERYTHING for them. You tell them what you want to eat and they will go make it for you. It surely sounds like heaven, but like I said before... It's brutal. I swear I'm the only one in this world that feels controlled by this. Everyone else is okay with it.
Explaining my town and this world is hard. It's actually beyond hard. Theres a word to describe it, but I've yet to find it. My name is Dexaa. Another thing! "Naming" your child has become a WHOLE new story. Instead of the names that you would read in history books at school like, "Hannah, John, Mary, and Dylan," we have, "Dexaa (Two a's), Burlin, Canta, and other strange names." Im 13 years old but I will be turning fourteen in three days. The big 14 is what every teen is anxious about. When you turn 14, you get buttloads of new responsibilities, but we all dread getting our charm. When a teen turns 14 they get a charm. I'm scared of getting my charm. Just thinking of getting handed one of those things makes me shiver. A charm will change your life. Once you turn 14 and get your charm, you are immediatly pulled out of school to go on an adventure... But by yourself. You don't have a clue where you are going to go, but you just keep walking and don't stop. The charm will lead the way. The adventure is to find your soul mate and thats where the charm does its "thing". While you're walking, the charm will get either hot or cold. When it's hot, you're closer to your soul mate, but when it's cold, you took a wrong turn.
I don't have a clue how long this is going to take me to find him. To be honest, I don't really care if I find him or not.
