It is May 2nd. My birthday is in three days and all I want to do is be free. In three freaking days I will be more controlled than ever. A thought was tracing my mind as I sat in my room. I ran and locked the doors so the servant can't get in. I rummaged through the book shelf and found a notebook. I needed a plan.. An escape route. So the day of my birthday when the officials come to present my charm and send me off, they won't be able to find me. As I sit here and brainstorm my mind slowly trails off to what he will be like.... STOP! I shook my head furiously. I can't be thinking about this, I thought to myself... I don't want to find him.

Brainstorming wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. I need to think about the main ideas... Where will I hide, how will I get there without anyone knowing, and how am I going to come out without anyone finding me. Maybe I can hide in one of my friends houses? No... They would look there, I thought. I started to get overwhelmed as I threw my notebook to the other side of the room. I jumped into my water  bed and started to giggle because of the sounds of water moving around from under my matress. To pull me out of my fun, the doorbell rang, catching my attention. I walked over and unlocked my door just in case the company was for me. The servant will send them up to me instead of me going down to them. Man... This prooves how lazy we are.

I heard racing footsteps come up the stairs and muffled voices whispering to stay quiet. I have no clue who it is. All of a sudden Jayn and Dusti came running into my room screaming at the top of their lungs. Since I was an only child, my parents aren't very used to random screaming here and there. I shushed the two boys and closed my door and locked it. "You better hope my parents come up here and yell at you for screaming like two psychos." I stated with a smile. They looked at eachother and shrugged. Pshh. Like they cared about getting yelled at. These two boys were the rebels of the town, and well known as my best friends. Most of the girls in this town ignore me because I'm "different" in their minds. But these are the best friends I could EVER have. Interrupting my thoughts, Jayn started laughing like a hyena.

"Oh Dex, aren't you oh so excited to get your charm and find your lovey boyfriennd?" He slurred the last word like he was drunk. He bashed his eyes as I glared at him. He knows how I hate when people bring this topic up. He passed the line when he used his little nickname for me! Dex. I hated it!

"No. Not at all... So please shut up... Or shall I remind you that you will be off on your journey in about a month to find your girllllfriennd?" I slurred the last word to mimick him. Dusti chuckled while watching Jayn glare at me. I'm going to miss Dusti. He is only 12, so he still has two years to go. I thought occured to my mind. Who would he hang out with once Jayn and I were gone? "Hey Dusti, can I ask you something?"

"Sure babe." He gave a wink towards me making me laugh out loud. He has surely been spending way too much time with Jayn. Jayn is definitely a player in this town. I still kind of wonder if once he finds his soul mate, he will stick with her. He skips around girls like he gets bored of them every day!

"You need to stop hanging out with Jayn," I laughed while Jayn made a gasping noise," But anyways, what are you going to do once Jayn and I are gone?" I could see the sadness in his eyes. I don't think he had a plan yet.

"Uhh, Dexaa, thats what we came here to talk to you about." Jayn said with concern in his eyes. They were hiding something from me, but clueless me, I have no clue. A lightbulb finally lit in my head! They could help me with hiding from the officials on my birthday!

"Will you guys do me a small favor please?!" I raced that sentance out of my mouth. They both looked at eachother, confused.

"Dexaa we really need to talk to you about something. It's really important." Dusti said quietly.
