Riley Kate's POV
As soon as Jacob saw me approach, he had a smile on his face like everything was just going to blow over. Yeah right! I was still as mad as I was that day he betrayed me. Now that I think about it, I'm even more mad because he never did try to resolve the conflict that happened in the 6 years we were apart! I just really want to leave right now. Why does Kristine have to hold me in place with that strong grip of hers?! I mean, I love her, but I just feel uncomfortable right now.
"Kristine, can you let go of me so I can leave this monster alone?" By now, a crowd was starting to form. Everyone was starting to watch us.
"I know I was a jerk, but I transferred schools just so that I was able to do this."
"Do what? All you've done so far is come over to my school and just ignore me for the past three days! What kind of person does that? Before you were a jerk to me at your party, I thought I liked you. But now, I absolutely hate you." Geez! Does he not get the hint that I really hate him? I mean, I just said it in front of about the entire 10th grade! All he's been doing so far is stand there with a smile on his face! What is wrong with him?!
"I've ditched those guys that I was hanging out with at the party! I didn't want them to ruin our friendship!"
"Well, it's a bit too late now!"
"All I was trying to do was get them to like me and accept me! Now, I see that I don't need anyone but you Riley Kate! I love you."
"But...how could.....Jacob?"
"I'm so sorry I ignored you for the past six years! I never meant to hurt you! I really, really love you Riley Kate."
This was just, so sudden. I thought he really did hate me after that day. I mean, he didn't call me, text me, or e-mail me. I thought he wanted nothing to do with me. But this, is probably the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me.
"I love you too Jacob."
By this time, I knew that everyone in the 10th grade was crowded around us. But the only thing that mattered right now, was that Jacob and I were together.
