Nicole pov

   He looks around with his bloodshot eyes, he sees me and storms closer.

"Tell me... NOW" he screams. I can smell the whiskey in his breath and on his clothes. I so wish Derrick was here, I feel so safe around him, he makes me feel loved. Aiden yanks a belt from a pair his pants in the laundry bin and grips it in his cold hard hand.

"Please!" I cry as I stand up "Please put that down! It was nobody I swear"
    he raises his hand, his nostrils flaring with anger. I close my eyes tight and cover my face, waiting for him to strike.

Derricks pov

"Hey I've been wanting to talk to you I just haven't had the time" no that makes it sound like she's not important.

"OOHHHHH WERE HALF WAY THEERE, OOOOHHHOH! LIVIN ON A PRAYER!!!"
Brice, John, Alex and Christian all scream as the radio blasts the song from the speakers pounding to the beat. We all go on a camping trip up to this forest on a mountain and they always sing it every year the whole way up.

"You guys are so annoying!" I yell to  them, even though I know they can't hear me.

" WERE ALMOST THERE!" John screams over the sound of the wind and the radio. I look back down at my phone and start to retype my message when we loose cell service.

"Crap!" I turn off my phone and stuff it in my pocket. I've been wanting to text Nicole for a while but haven't gotten up the nerve to ever since our day in the park.
  
     We turn down a little path in the woods that we've worn down over the years leading to our favorite spot on the mountain. It's a little clearing by the lake surrounded by big pine trees. We've gone here ever sense we were kids, Brice's dad put in a huge dock when we were teenagers and we still have our original fire pit that we made when we were 10 in the middle of the clearing.
    We all grab our bags from the back of the car and started to set up our tents. I go to my usual spot in between Christian and John. Our tents make a circle around the fire pit with a gap in between Alex and Brice's to get to the lake.
     I set up my tent and walk down to the dock. I go to the end a sit down on the splintering wood and dangle my feet in the water. I watch as the fish scatter away at the sight of my toes. I look out across the calm blue water, ducks and geese wade out in the middle sticking their head under every few minuets trying to find something to eat. I love it out here it's so calm and relaxing. I lay down on the dock and look up at the sky. All the sudden I feel a banging from the other end I look up to see Alex soaring over my head.

"WOOOOOHOOOOO" he yells as he collides with the water. Next comes Brice, followed by John and Christian.

"COMMON BRO!" Brice calls as he dunks Johns head underwater. I watch as John struggles against Brice's muscles. He finally gets his head up and tackles Brice back getting him into a head lock. I laugh as I pull my shirt off and throw it behind me. I cannon ball into the pond splashing them all with a big wave of water.

    After about an hour of roughhousing we all get out and dry off. I look across the lake to see the sun starting to lower towards the horizon. I walk up the hill to our tents to find Alex starting a fire and Christian getting the food ready. He takes out a package of hot dogs and some buns as Brice brings over some sticks from the woods to cook them on. I unzip the door to my tent and flop onto my air mattress. I get a pair of sweatpants and my camping hoodie out of my bag to change into and slip on my sneakers. I see my phone sitting in the side pocket of my bag. I know we don't have any cell service up here but I still check and make sure.
