Goodbye

The Sidemen sat down on the bridge over the river, recording the whole thing. Ethan was watching it carefully.
If someone jumped in, he thought, would they die?
Ethan shook his head. All this Sidemen stuff was too much for him. They bullied him. Ethan knew it was all jokes, but he couldn't take it.
"It's quite nice, isn't it?"
Simon nodded, looking at Josh. Even they had not noticed that Ethan was standing up and watching the river flow.
"Should we come here more?"
Josh nodded, then spotted Ethan.
"What are you doing?"
"Oh um, nothing. Just looking at the water. Could I jump in?"
"Ethan you'd be taken away. It's so powerful. You might drown." Simon put his hand on Ethan's leg. "Don't try."
"But what if I did?"
Simon shook his head and looked away.
"Just don't do it."
Ethan groaned, and sat back down. Harry, JJ, and Tobi were all messing around on the grass, and Vik was lay on his back making cloud shapes.
"Guys that looks like a two men banging!" Vik shouted, trying to clear his memory of the horrible cloud.
"Ethan and Simon, then!" Josh shouted back.
"I'm not gay!" Ethan snapped.
"Sure as heck you are."
"I hate all of you!"
Ethan got up and ran off the bridge, sprinting off into the distance. However, they all forgot they were recording, Simon's camera dangling from his neck, and managed to get the whole thing on tape.
"Wait Ethan!"
Simon bolted after his friend, catching up because Ethan was chubby and couldn't run much.
"What if I said I was gay for you?"
"Really?"
"I dunno. Just what if?"
"I suppose I'd ask you out?"
"Ha, so you are gay!"
"Wow!"
Ethan dodged around Simon and ran back to the water.
"Wait, Ethan! It was a joke!"
Ethan didn't stop. He ran towards the bridge, not slowing down his pace, Simon hot on his heels.
"Ethan it wasn't a joke! I do actually love you."
Ethan looked back, and tried to stop. But how fast he was running effected it, and he slipped, rolling down the bank and into the exact place they told him not to go.
"ETHAN!"
The camera was still rolling.
Ethan came to the surface, scratching and screaming, but the gushing water was too much, and it pushed him away.
All the Sidemen got to their feet and watched.
"Ethan!"
"No!"
"Ethaaaan!"
"ETH!"
"NO ETHAN!"
Simon screamed, watching helplessly as Ethan disappeared.
"That's it. I'm done."
Simon took off his camera, still not noticing it was playing.
"What?"
The Sidemen gathered, and fell silent for minutes, letting the tears wet their eyes and their cheeks.
"I'm quitting. I can't do it with out him." Simon whispered, watching his hands soak with tears. "He was my eternal light..."
Josh rubbed Simon's back.
"Well..."
"Goodbye Youtube. Goodbye guys. Goodbye Ethan."
And Simon never touched his channel ever again.
