It was somewhat early in the morning, you, 10 year old (Y/N) made the necessary housework chores, trying to keep it clean and nice. You felt that it needed to be special for when your father and brother Alan return; as a warm welcome to home sweet home.

You never thought of the idea of them being dead, since (for you) they were your role models, heros strong smart, etc. Plus you made them promise they wouldn't let you nor the survey corps down. your idea was to finish up early, thinking you could meet up with your squad. You were rather lonely when your relatives went to their "monthly" expedition.

You grabbed some few snacks for your friends and headed to that little blonde-hair boy's home. once you got to your destination, you knocked on the door, gently Armin's grandpa answered.

"Why hello little (Y/N) care to come in? Armin is in his room reading, it could be a lovely surprise." His grandfather welcome you while you hugged him as well.

You considered Armin and grandpapa part of your "2nd family". They took care of you when you needed it the most. Armin was like a brother to you, when Alan was too busy and you didn't want to disturb him to play with you. Plus your "little brother" understood you with various things in common, like the world out there and literature. But you always kept your secrets safe with your big sibling.

You entered slowly into the house,trying to be sneaky and preventing to make a racket. You pulled your h/c locks back to your ear so you could see the distance better. Stealthily you opened that boy's bedroom door, hoping it wouldn't be any suspicious. You did not want him to scare but to surprise your good friend.

Slowly as you approached him (his back facing you while he read), you covered his eyes with your little hands. He tensed up a little and said:

"Grandpa, no!! you scared me while I was at the good part".

"Oh silly, but I'm not your grandpa. sure if he got a squeaky voice and height as me and petite hands like mine," you giggled. While you pulled back your arms and turn him to face you.

"Y/N!!"He shoted while he jumped out of the bed so he could hug you. "you scared me, you know what dishonor on you L/N, dishonor on your cow" (quoting Mushu ;)) he teases you. You gave him a bump and both started laughing.

"Well I just wanted to pay a visit since my dad and Alan won't be back till sundown or late at night today." you explained to him. "I was wondering if I could see you guys if you weren't busy at all... But I see you're bit busy with the reading, my bad." You grabbed the book and turned it to see the cover: Wildlife Out There.
For some time now you have thought about what's outside those walls that protected as well as you felt inside a prison cell.

"No not all, I have read it lots of times now, I almost know every word on the page, don't worry about it; in fact, I could recite" he cleared his throat and stood straight just as he was about to give the most important speech ever. Just before he teased you, you covered his mouth, he giggled.
Armin denied that he was busy. "Come on, let's go to the others' house, 'big sis'". You ran to the front door ready to depart.
