Chapter Two

~~22 years later~~

"Sam!" Samantha's boyfriend, Jessie, yells for her. He's dressed up in a suit while trying to adjust his tie. The photo of Mary and John from earlier is on the dresser.

"Get a move on, would you?"

The music in the background sounds throughout. ( Music: I've been shot from a cannon)

"We were supposed to be there like fifteen minutes ago." Jessie walks off.

(Music: I'm a human cannon ball)

"You coming or what?" Samantha pokes her head around the corner dressed in a black v-neck along with a green jacket a pair of washed out skinny jeans and her converse. Hair down and wavy. "Do I have to?"

"Yes." (Music: I'm gonna fly high) "It'll be fun." Samantha comes into the room. "And where's your costume?" (Music: I'm gonna fall, fall, fall.) Samantha laughs and ducks her head.

"You know how I feel about Halloween."

Party

Classics 'What Cha Gonna Do' Begins to play.

(Music: Show me what Cha gonna do.
Yeah what Cha gonna do.
Are you trying to get in.

The bar is decorated for Halloween.
Someone pours someone else a shot.
Everyone is in a costume.

(Music: Are you gonna ride)

Jessie raises his glass Luis, who is wearing a ghoul costume comes up to the table where Jessie and Samantha are. Samantha still not in costume.

"So here's to Samantha-
(Music: Baby)
"- and her awesome LSAT victory."

"All right, All right it's not that big a deal." Jessie, Samantha, and Luis all clink glasses.

"Yeah she acts all humble, but she scored a one seventy four." Luis and Samantha both drink their shots. "Is that good?" Luis asks. "Scary good." Jessie replies as he takes his drink.

"So there you go. You are a first-round draft pick. You can go to any law school you want!" Luis sits next to Samantha.

"Actually I got an interview here. Monday. If it goes okay I think I gotta shot at a full ride next year."

"Hey. It's gonna go great."

"It better."

"How does it feel to be the golden girl of your family?"

"Ah, they don't know."

"Oh, no, I would be gloating! Why not?"

"Because we're not exactly the Brady's."

"And I'm not exactly the Huxtable's. More shots?" Samantha and Jessie both speak in chorus. "No. No."

"No." Luis goes up to the bar anyways.

"No, seriously I'm proud of you. And you're gonna knock em dead on Monday and your gonna get that full ride. I know it."

"What would I do without you?"

"Crash and burn."

Jessie smiles and pulls Samantha in for a kiss.

Samantha and Jessie lie in bed, asleep back to back. Jessie shifts positions.
