I ran towards the new school running from the cool, chilling wind that has frozen my fingers with frost bite. I shiver with the cold as the warm, welcoming heat of the school rushed to greet me at the door. I quickly throw myself into the heated building and welcome the warmth as my pale face starts to gain some color again. I quickly try and find my way to the office in the maze we call Chesterfield High School. I turn down a hall that looks like it could lead me to the office. "Liya?" A male asks from behind me, I turn hoping it's a teacher that will be willing to point me in the right direction to the office. I turn to see the guy that I had met yesterday when our new next door neighbor Mrs. Travis came to introduce herself and her son Sean. "Oh hey Sean, look, I know you really don't have to nor do you probably want to but could you, point me towards the office." I ask nervously. To say he was hot was a total understatement. He was a Greek god! "I don't mind at all," He tells me and starts walking towards the way of the office. I walk beside him and take the time to look at his features, he was wearing a white V-neck that was tight enough to outline his abs and defined chest, his jeans were black and skinny that hung off of his hips slightly. "Here we are, Oh by the way, My mom wanted to invite you and your mom to my house for dinner. Do you think you guys could come? I have to tell my mom so she knows how much food to buy. Can I give you my number so you can text me and let me know if you can come?" He asks. I nod and hand him my phone letting him type in his phone number. He hands me my phone back. "I'll text you so you have my number. Thank you for helping me to the office. I appreciate it." I say with a small smile. He nods, "No problem, see you around. Don't forget to let me know by free period about whether you and your mom can come tonight." He tells me before quickly shuffling down the empty hall. I open the office door to be greeted by Mr. Richardson my new principle. I had met him yesterday after my mom and I got all of the boxes out of the moving truck and into the correct rooms. "Oh hello Ms. Nicholas, are you here for your schedule?" He asks. "Yes sir," I tell him with a small polite smile. "Well let me get that for you, Here we let you pick where you want your locker so you can choose that whenever you are ready. " He tells me printing out my papers that I need for the day. "Okay so you have AP Chemistry first, then Musical Talents, Gym, Lunch, English, free period "He says handing me back my papers. "Do we have to stay in school for free period or can we leave early since it's our last class for the day?" I ask. "Well, we want you to stay at school but it's not a rule that you have to, if you want to leave instead of staying at a school while its free bell then it's okay you may leave and go where ever it is you want to go" He tells me with a smile. "Well thank you sir, do you have a school map so I can get around by myself?" I ask. "I do." He says handing me a folded map of the school. " Also, everyone is in the cafeteria because we are having a half day so today you will go to the cafeteria, Musical Talents, Gym, and then that's the end of the day." he tells me with a polite smile. I nod and smile back politely and begin to try and find my way to the cafeteria. I find my way quickly as I follow a few kids in the direction. I find a empty table in the back right corner. I pull out my phone to text my mom to ask if she will be attending dinner with me and the Travis's.
To: Mom- Hey, we were invited for dinner with Mrs. Travis and her son. Will you be able to attend? Or no.
From: Mom- Hi sweet heart. I won't be able to make it, but I need to talk to you when you get home. Xx Mom.
To:Mom- Why can't you just tell me right now?
From:Mom- I guess I could tell you right now. I've been assigned to go to England for 3 months I leave tomorrow but I have to stay in a hotel tonight cause I leave at 3AM. I'm sorry sweety.... I talked to Mrs. Travis. She said that she will keep an eye on you and that after tonight you will go stay with her. Love you see you in a couple months.
To:Mom- Okay, Love you too mom. Bye.
I turn off my phone as I realize that I am no longer alone I look to see two guys whom I'm guessing are brothers, a girl that wears glasses and has eyeliner drawn on her eyelids. "Uh..hi." I say timidly. "Hey are you the new girl everyone is talking about?" The girl asks. "I guess so. M name is-" I'm cut off by one of the brothers with sandy blonde hair "Liya. Your name is Liya. " he says with a semi deep voice. I nod. "My name is Chance and this is my brother Brooks. And this cutie over here is Emma." The brother with light brown hair smiles at me. "Nice to meet you all. " I say with a soft smile. The rest of lunch consisted of the four of us playing 21 questions. I had answered ALL their questions with no problems. Crap! I forgot to text Sean. Damn it. I quickly grab my phone. I go through my contacts. Freddie, no. George, nope. Sammy, absolutely not. Sexy, n-wait... Really Sean? Urgh. I click on the name.
To : Sean- Hey my mom can't make it. But I can if the offer still stands. Let me know. -L
"Oo Who are you texting?" Chance asks. "Sean Travis." I respond. Everyone at my tables jaw drop and look at me with wide eyes. "You- Sean but how!" Emma asks flabbergasted. "He is my neighbor and his mom invited me over for dinner." I explain. "YOU LIVE NEXT TO HIM LIYA!!" They all shout at me. "...yeah....?" I say confused. The roll their eyes about to say something else as the bell rings. Literally saved by the bell. I hop up and begin walking out of the cafe. I find a empty locker that is semi close to my Musical arts class. I put most of my belongings in the locker and drag the rest with me towards my next class. Here goes nothing. I walk into the Music art class nervous.
