Winter:
As I awoke from my slumber, my eyes began to water from the sunlight filtering through the curtains. I sat up in pure bliss, planning the wonderful day ahead of me. I started doing my usual routine - stretching my arms and legs, yawning as I did so, an indescribable notice escaping my lips. I tiptoed to my window that looks over the city of New York.

I loved New York, it gave me a feeling of fitting in as such, no one can be bothered to judge you, they all just mind their business as they make their way to their according destination. I had plans to travel all over America and possibly Europe in a mini van, it all just sounded so appealing to me, the way your hair would blow back from the wind as you admire each scene awaiting you.

I was caught up in my thoughts until I noticed a movement ahead of me. Outside my window sat the familiar figure of a boy. I don't know his name, all I know about him is that every morning he sits in the same place a few meters from my house and smokes a cigarette. This 'boy' was my age, maybe a few years older - roughly 19 or so. He is somewhat muscular, has raven black hair and generous amounts of tattoos were scattered at random all over his body, mainly being focused on his arm. Every time I see him he never looks joyous, he looks dejected and gloomy. I feel sorry for him, I really do, I couldn't imagine waking up each day feeling sad.

As his cigarette came to a cancerous end he gradually began to stand up. Without thinking twice I flew my window open abruptly and called for him.

I waved my arms frantically, desperate for him to notice me as I began to squawk "hey, hey, over here!"

He cautiously turned his head, and for the first time I was able to get a favourable view of his sculpted face. He peered at me, clearly confused, his head tilting ever so slightly to the left as he popped his lip in between his teeth in turmoil. In my daze, I began to wonder what I was even going to say to him. I did not think this through...

He started to grow impatient and as he was about to turn around my voice began to work again, "Hey, um I see you here all the time, and um, I was wondering who you were?"

Smooth, Winter, smooth.

A condescending chuckle left his plump lips.

"The names Axel," he smirked and winked, and in the blink of an eye he was gone.

I stood there looking like a goldfish for a few moments to comprehend what had happened. Axel, he's going to be my new friend, sure, he doesn't even know my name yet and he probably thinks i'm strange but thats okay, as long as I can paint a smile on his face.

---

The day was fairly normal until I spotted, yet again, the same chiseled face, its as if we're magnets.

Authors Note:
So sorry for the short chapter, this is just to get me started writing this book. Yes, it wasn't that interesting but give me a chance, books done always start with the most interesting thing in the beginning.
