Winter:
Another day into the year. Usually, I'd be excited to go out when it's bright and sunny, but I'm not, getting out of bed was a struggle in itself.Axel was on my mind. Last night he proved to me just how lonely he was, don't get me wrong, independence is great, but there's a fine line in which he's crossed.
It dawned on me that maybe I'm like that too, I don't really have any 'friends' maybe I'm too caught up in the midst of my mind to notice my surroundings too.
Axel is the typical bad boy. The player in high school who shows no emotions, but at the same time, an outcast. He's very... reserved? How can you describe someone who you don't know and won't open up to you? Maybe under that tough exterior there's a soft and mellow core.
Walking to my usual spot of sanity, I pictured how Axel really is when he's having fun. Approaching the undiscovered sanctuary I sat down beside an old oak tree, hugging my knees to my chest. Everything about this place was so peaceful; slow ripples of water gently pushing onto the small strip of brown sand, choirs of birds singing sweet melodies and the chaos of the city invisible, covered by thick emerald trees.
Resting my head against the stable trunk, I closed my eyes, my surroundings vanishing to my brain. After a while I must've fallen asleep, because my body awoke startled. The world around me became clearer, although I couldn't find the source of my disturbance.
Sinking into the tree, preparing to fall into deep bliss, I heard shouting. I recognised the voice almost immediately, the hairs on my neck standing up and my blood running cold. A deep sneer came from beside my ear along with the words I had learnt to block out. Inhaling sharply I turned to look at the menacing face of my once friend, my attempted murderer.
