"Amy, get up. It's your first day at school! A very important day, first impressions are important blah blah blah...” I felt something that felt very much like a fist hit me on the head very hard to wake me up.
"Go away" I mumbled and glared at him from underneath the sheets for hitting me with that much force. I wasn’t made out of rocks.
I heard him slowly walk out of my room. For a second I tasted victory, until I realized something, he never back downs that easily. My heartbeat quickened with excitement and sudden awareness. What was he up to? The sound of footsteps returned, and the covers were yanked off me, followed by something cold splashing onto the sheets and onto me. My eyes flashed open, and I looked down myself. He threw water on me. I glared up at Jack, who was now standing beside my bed with a huge grin on his face and a bucket in hand.
"Are you crazy? Do you know how dangerous that is?" I yelled at my guardian while standing up in my bed. My hair was plastered to my face, and I probably looked somewhat like a drowned cat.
He laughed "How is throwing water at you dangerous?" I wondered how this guy never seemed to get angry at anything and just laugh at everything. I had lived with him for a couple of months and as the trouble maker I am, I tend to make a lot of trouble, but not once had he been angry, mad or spiteful. The most I’d gotten was a disapproving look or a headshake, but not a second would pass by and the smile would reappear.
"I could have drowned or something." I yelled at him. I knew I sounded incredibly stupid and bitchy, but as the man who always woke me up these past months, he would know that and know too, that once I fully and my brain is functioning, I would sound a little better. Only a little...
"Yes well. You're a strong girl. I knew you wouldn't give in to the water. I'm so proud of you.” He said in mock pride and wiped an invisible tear away. I rolled my eyes at him in exasperation.
“Now get ready for school. You've got half an hour." Then he walked out humming some happy song. He was an awesome guy, but when it came to waking me up? He was merciless.
Half an hour? That son of a bitch.
“He damn well knows that's not enough for me, when I’m slower than a turtle with two broken legs, especially in the morning” I grumbled under my breath while stepping out of my bed. I ran into the bathroom to take a quick shower and after fifteen long minutes, I came out. Yeah like I said, slow.
I put on some light blue, slim pants and a long sleeved t-shirt with a cardigan. Pulling a brush through my long, brown hair, I proceeded to put it in a ponytail. I applied some mascara, but not much. I didn’t really get that much into the whole makeup thing, or maybe I was just too lazy to care, but it never took much to make my stormy, gray eyes ‘pop’.
Grabbing my bag, I ran down the stairs to find something to eat before we leave. I stood next to the counter having a stare down with the basket of fruit, which one would I choose? Apple or Banana? My brain started to hurt, I was getting a headache. It was too early for this. I was probably a couple seconds away from an overload, before Jack saved me from deciding by calling for me, "Amy Lets go."
Grabbing the apple I yelled at our housekeeper, "Bye Macy!” I went outside, to see Jack sitting in a Bentley convertible. He had a great taste for cars, and this was probably the only thing he really spent money on.
