Tessa POV

I laid up on my elbows, eyes glued down on my phone fiddling between my thin fingers. I was beyond bored. What ever there was that passed the extend of boredom, I was feeling that. Mum had left for the after noon to meet with a few of her friends coming in to town, leaving me alone in my house with my tabby, Kip.

He pounced up onto my bed, casually stepping over my back with his tiny paws. I smiled to myself as I felt him nudge my shoulder with his fluffy head, attempting to get my attention. My movements startled him slightly as I turned around and sat up on my knees, facing him. My fingers dropped my phone to my side to caress my attention craving cat who purred in response as I scratched behind his ears.

After a good five minutes of pampering, I left Kip and went back to playing with my phone. Mum had finally given in to my constant begging and went with me to the mobile store and bought me my own smart phone. I've been tinkering with it ever since, still a little bit confused at how it all works but slowly getting the hang of the new technology.

As I was scrolling through my contacts, I came up with a possible solution to my bordness. My fingers scrolled quickly to find the "H" section until finally hovering over one specific name.

I clicked it.

To: Harry
Want to hang out today? Mum's gone, we can watch films and make wicked sundae's even though it's Saturday.

I hit send, locking the screen as soon as the message was sent. I'd been texting Harry ever since I'd gotten my phone. We talked mainly about things that should be irrelevant to us like; to be the long lost member of the Royal family or if we really lived in a world like Lilo and Stich.

A buz beneath my pillow made me jump for my phone. My fingers excitedly unlocked the screen to retrieve the message. Except that excitement faded away shortly after reading his response.

From: Harry
Sorry Tess, I cant. Busy. Talk to you later. -H

I frowned at the text, locking the screen once more and sinking into my pillows. Rejection was something I always hated. It made me feel sad, unwanted. Even though I know the other person doesn't mean to make me sad or feel unwanted, it just simply does for some reason.

I flipped on my side, releasing a loud puff of air from my nostrils. If Harry was busy, I was in for a long day ahead. He usually always agrees to our hang outs and is at my house with in ten minutes. But I get as to why this time he cant come, he has plans. He's busy. I'm just curious as to what he's up to, is all.

Poppy would probably be laughing at me. She always thought it was funny when somebody turned me down. Not because she was being mean, but because she found it interesting at how easily offended I got afterwards. Something about my eye twitching?

I sat up from my bed abruptly as I got another rush of hope to save me from this boring day.

To: Poppy
Pop want to come over? Mum's gone out with her friends... please save me from this boring state of mind.

I hit send, laughing as I re-read the message and realised how desperate I actually sounded.

Within not even a minute later she replied.

From: Poppy
On my way. But you better have ice cream, I'm in the mood for some.

I chuckled one last time before stuffing my phone in my pocket and hopping off my bed. Kip scrambled off as well and ducked underneath my desk where he had his own little pillow to sit on.

While Kip began dozing off, I went to the kitchen and took out two tubs of my favourite ice cream from the freezer. Followed by chocolate syrup and cream from the fridge and two large spoons from the drawers.
