Emily's POV:

"I liked your dance moves." He whispered in my ear. His breath tickled down my neck, sending chills down my body. Damn, the effect that boy had on me.

I went back to working on the food, finishing up a few things here and there. I wonder if he remembers our kiss last night. Probably not, right? If so, he would have said something by now. Ugh. I need to stop thinking about it. He was drunk. He doesn't remember. He doesn't like me. I needed to push the thought aside.
"Hunt, the food's ready." I yelled at him.

I put all the food on a plate, setting it on the table, as he came rushing in. I went back to the fridge, grabbing the orange juice, pouring Hunter and I a glass. When I sat down, he was already stuffing his face with pancakes. I set his glass down and he mumbled a thank you through a stuffed mouth. Ugh, boys.

We continued to eat our food in silence. Glancing at each other every now and then. Unfortunately, I couldn't take the dead air anymore, "Hunt, about last night."

I paused for a minute to watch his reaction. He looked back at me confused, so I continued on.
"About what happened between you and I, I just...."

"Em, what are you talking about?" He interrupted, looking completely lost.
Would you look at that. I was right, he doesn't remember. Damn it. Once again, I made a fool out of myself. How am I going to get myself out of this one?

"Just kidding. Haha, I just wanted to scare you. " I said trying my best to lie.

Obviously it didn't work. Hunt just stared back at me, watching my every move. Soon enough, his look got serious.

"Emily, what happened between us last night?" He asked looking at me with a stern face.

"Nothing." I said trying to play it off.

"Emily Nicole Stevens, don't you dare lie to me." He said starting to get angry.

Oh gosh, what did I get myself into?
"Nothing Hunter, just forget I said anything." I said trying really hard for him to drop it.

"Obviously it wasn't nothing, if you're being so defensive about it. It can't be that bad, just tell me what happened." He said still raising his voice.

"I have nothing to tell you Hunter. Nothing happened. I can't tell you about nothing." I said feeling bad for lying to him.

"Emily, I know you. You're lying right now. Why won't you talk to me. Obviously if you're here, it's nothing that could effect us." He said starting to calm down.

That's the thing Hunter. It would effect us. Last night, with you, I felt more in that few second kiss, than I've ever felt my whole life.

Everything I ever felt with Steven was topped by those few magical seconds. I felt completed in that time with you, but you can never know.

I sighed walking towards him wrapping my arms around his waist. I felt his body stiffen for a moment, but relaxing seconds later as he wrapped his arms around my shoulders.

"You have to just trust me Hunter. Okay?" I said looking up at him with pleading eyes.

He stared down at me, running his hands over his face. "Fine. But one day, I will find out. " He said dropping his arms.

I muttered a thank you and went to go sit on the couch.

We watched tv in silence until Hunter's sister Stephanie came home from her friends house. She barged in the door with her mother coming in behind her. She ran up to me jumping in my arms giving me a huge bear hug.

"Hey sweet pea, what's up?" I said smiling down at the she devil sitting on my lap.
She rambled on about what she did with her friend Amy all weekend, and I couldn't help but smile. Growing up being younger than my brother, I never had a little sibling. I adored Steph like she was my own little sister.

I glanced up at Hunter and his mom as they watched me with adoration as I talked to the little munchkin. I leaned in and whispered in her ear, and she giggled.

She stood up, pretending to walk away, but then turning around to jump onto Hunter with a loud thud. I heard Hunter groan, but he just laughed, placing an evil smirk on his face.

He picked up Stephanie, carrying her upside down on his back, running across the house.
Somewhere along the way she shouted for me to help her and I intercepted his path. I grabbed Stephanie releasing her from her monsteras brother.

"Go Stephanie, you're free." I yelled making it way more dramatic than it was. She ran towards her mother, hiding behind her legs.

I was about to start walking towards them, when I was picked up being dragged the opposite way. It wasn't until we passed through the the kitchen when I realized we were going to the backyard. Why would we be going out there? Wait, oh he wouldn't.

"Hunter, you wouldn't dare." I said, scared I already knew my fate.

He just laughed, still carrying me to my doom.
I squirmed in his arms, trying to break his grasp, but nothing would help me now.

I prepared myself for the hard impact, but was surprised when he jumped in with me. The cold water drenched my clothes and I soon enough surfaced.

I was greeted with the cold wind hitting my face. Hunter was faced the other way, and I took my chance to pounce back at him. As stealthy as I am, I still couldn't stop the small wave that hit his back causing him to turn around.

I stopped dead in my tracks looking around as if I was innocent. I soon enough met Hunter's eyes, when I saw he was looking at me with that same devil smirk he wore earlier. I tried swimming away from him, but he was faster.

He caught me by my waist and turned me around in his arms. He held my sides firmly while rubbing comforting circles and looking deep into my eyes.

I smiled up to him. "We always find ourselves in this position, don't we?"

"And I'll never get tired of it." He said smiling back down to me.

He slowly started leaning in and I found myself nearing closer and closer to him. Our lips were centimeters away and

"Emily, do you want to play barbies?" Steph interrupted.

Oh my gosh Stephanie. I love you, but uggh. I was this close to kissing your brother.

We were snapped out of our trance and he let go of my waist as I swam towards the stairs leading me out of the pool.

"Let me go change first honey bunches. I'll meet you in your room when I'm done." I said ushering her inside.

I glanced back, and saw Hunter standing in the middle of the pool. He was running his hands through his hair over and over.

I turned around and walked back inside to change. I couldn't help but let my mind wonder, though.

What would have happened if Stephanie hadn't interrupted? Would we have kissed? Would one of us had backed out? I guess the world may never know.
