I: Pain, and sleep-Dipper

I turned off my phone after sending a voicemail, my sister and I were nearly at our summer home. I sighed in an attempt to hide my stress from, well, myself. It was nearing dawn, so I thought I might as well give some rest before arriving.

In a boring twist of events, I begin to think of all my accomplishments in my life. I had multiple great adventures with my sister, even after what had happened with our Gruncles. This summer would be turning 19, and then I would be off to college abroad, of course following my Gruncle Ford's steps in paranormal science. My sister and I grew closer with every summer that came with visiting our distant family.

Over time I had done many stupid and idiotic things. To count a few, I have wasted myself at multiple parties; gotten tattoos against my parent's wishes, broken a few bones, dated around. The usual teen stuff. I wasn't the only one who did a few things that they regretted, Mabel - she had it worse then I did.

Before I knew it, I was staring out one of the many small windows of the bus. I spotted trees that were thin and clumped together.  Some of the large branches held water, while others had twigs or dead leaves. As I looked up at the sky, cheek rubbing against the glass, the trees appeared to stretch for miles. Like hands reaching toward the sky in the need for freedom of the dirt that tucked them away.

Glancing around I noticed a signed pass by in a blur. It was the old Welcome To Gravity Falls sign, run down with its paint drying out with every passing summer. Every year it was the same, with the usual water tower, a few pine trees scattered, and a wide yellow sun tucked away in the corner. Like people, it aged with time and became less distant against the wildness background.

As my mind wandered off thinking about how Gravity Falls wasn't exactly a popular city, much less a town. I never took notice that beneath my jaded jeans and on my forearms was a pale glow illuminating through. With every passing second, the glow brightened. When I finally noticed, the glowing had a tingling sensation.

The tingles I felt grew stronger becoming slightly painful like light needles poking everywhere, I stared confused at my thighs, wondering why it was happening. Clenching and un-clenching my teeth, gripping my hands against the seat in front of me as I tried to not wake up the sleeping people that were left on the bus. Suffering, I focused on were the tingles were coming from; thighs- but what do I have on my thighs that could bring this much pain? About a year ago I had gotten a few tattoos, but they didn't hurt this bad.

I was shaking, teeth chattering. The needles were stabbing from under my skin, bringing itching tingles across my body. My eyes were squeezed shut as I forced to open them. Slowly, I raised up my dark blue sweater sleeve- the black tattoo ink was outlined by gold light. Glowing in fluorescent starlight,  the Latin words on my left arm that I had gotten during the last spring break of the senior year, seemed to glow alive. The light gave off heat, which seemed to burn my eyes. I soon noticed that as the bus was getting closer to the main road of Gravity Falls; and the tingles were growing more intense. Soon the burning and the gabbing pain was unbearable, that eventually as I held my breath for too long it caused a blackout.

"Alright, Last call for passengers getting off in Gravity Falls. We will be leaving in the next two minutes." A loud drowned out voice blared from above me. Blinking my brown eyes, I glared to clear my sight. Mabel was awake and trying to get the case down from the overhead storage cabinets. All while mumbling curses, "Wake up, dips!" Repeatedly.

"Alright, Alright. I'm up. I'm up." yeesh, calm down. I stretched before placing everything that I took out into my large backpack back into it's somewhat organized place. Mabel was halfway down the aisle as I quickly took a good look around to make sure I didn't miss anything.
