Darling do be gentle,
I'm more fragile than I seem.
Covered in cracks from head to toe
Forgive me if I lean
Too much on you, my Love;
I can't forget my stains,
I can't erase the sins,
I can't undo the pains
I've caused and always will.
I don't know what you could gain.
But Dearest, just for me,
Don't be like other people
Don't fall for the lion,
Or the pious church's steeple,
Just me.
Love me through my brokenness,
When no one else will care,
Be a presence in my darkness
Prove that life's not fair.
That even after what I've done,
You will still be there.
