To new beginnings...

Chapter 1

"Serena wake up! You're running late for school again". My mother yelled from the kitchen.

"5 more minutes mommy" I said sleepily.

*10 mins later*

"Oh shit! I'm so late. I'm going to miss my bus. Ahhhh! Hurry up serena! You can make it." Well this is usually me panicking to myself every single morning.

I hurriedly brushed and showered in exactly 10 mins. Threw on whatever I saw first and ran down the stairs with my hair dripping wet.
"Mom I'm getting late. I'll have breakfast on the way."

" Serena not this again. You will sit down and quickly eat. You still have 10 mins before your bus arrives." Said mom with a stern expression.
"Fine. But just one sandwich." I said.

After eating I left home and walked to the bus stop which was common to our colony.
As usual my best friend who happens to live 3 house down the road was waiting for me slightly impatiently.

"Hey Chloe!" I yelled from a distance.

"Oh look who decided to show up on time today" retorted Chloe.

"Oh shut up! Look the bus is here" I said cutting her off.

We boarded the bus and sat on our usual seat, the two seater just before the backseat.

"I have so much homework left and I have to submit it all by next week" Chloe began whining.

"Yea, same. Especially my business studies project is nearly impossible to complete. It's absolutely ridiculous how we're supposed to be able to do so much in a matter of 2 weeks and prepare for our mid-terms." I said.

"Anyways I have a long day to go. No free periods today. I'll see you after school directly" Chloe informed me as we were walking towards our lockers.

After collecting our books we parted ways as she has physics and I had accounts in the first period.

I walked into my classes texting away on my phone and *bam* the next thing I know I'm on the floor with something heavy on top of me and all my books all over the floor.

It took me 5 seconds to realise that the heavy thing was a guy who happened to be killing me with his weight.

"I'm so sorry" said the two of us simultaneously.

He helped me get up and picked my books for me all the while apologising for ramming into me.

"Stop apologising" I said. " I should have been looking ahead instead of texting so it's my fault" I assured him.

"I'm Tyler" he said shyly.

"I'm Serena" I said shaking his hand.

"Are you new here? Cuz I don't think I've seen you around here before"

He said, " yea, I recently transferred here so this is actually my first class."

I absolutely loved meeting new people so as expected I got really excited and we walked into class together making small talk at the same time.

The second I put down my books on my table
I was ambushed into a hug.

"Hiiiiiii!!" Screamed Chris into my year.

Well Chris is my other best friend. He's tall, blonde with baby blue eyes and also the basketball captain of our school . I've practically known him my entire life.

I hug him back and introduce him to Tyler.
"Chris this is Tyler . He recently transferred her e" I informed Tyler excitedly.

Shaking his head he said, " oh god! There you go being excited over a new person all over again."

"oh shush Chris " I slapped his cheek playfully.
We all settle down in our places as our teacher walks in.

Little did I know that my goal of having a peaceful high school experience just about ended with the start to this beautiful day.
