This is the documentation of exploration of the planet Marfauna written by scientist John Schmoe. It started when John stole a rocket ship. He was desperate to find another planet and maybe even become famous for finding it. He climbed aboard a vacant rocket ship and put on a space suit. He then raced to the control panel and tried to figure out how to prepare the ship for takeoff. He read the instruction manual and got to work. After he prepared everything, he accidentally hit the button to takeoff! He shot into space, with no control over the ship what so ever.

The ship twirled and lurched back and forth. He went through the atmosphere and shot into space. The ship had a destination already planed for it, Mars. Though since John was desperate to find I new planet, he hijacked the controls and drove off into space. The rocket ship was running out of gas and made an unexpected turn. John smashed to the floor with the sharp turn and laid there, unconscious. The ship hit dozens of rocks and asteroids. It got all banged up and started to crash land on a uninhabited planet. The scientist dizzily stood up and looked around, his eyes filling with horror.

He quickly examined the ship, seeing that there was no way he could get off the planet with this ship. He raided the ship for food and water and then realized that there may not be oxygen on this planet. He only had a couple containers of air left. He cautiously took off his helmet and stepped out of the space ship, breathing in lung fulls of oxygen. He was happy, until he saw his surroundings. The poor, poor scientist was trapped on an island surrounded by lava. Though luckily he seemed to be on the largest island or the the mother island. He only saw a few small islands in the distance. He also couldn't see across the island , which he was standing on.

The scientist decided that he better get some rest so he went into the rocket ship and grabbed the food and water. He went to lie down but he heard a quiet voice in the background counting: self destruct in eight, seven, six. John jumped up and ran off the ship and into the jungle, just as the ship exploded, at least half of the ship flying into the lava sea. He stomped in frustration and wandered into the woods. After walking for hours he found himself exactly where he started. John was extremely frustrated and extremely tired. He walked around looking for a good tree to sleep in. Though he wanted to stay close to where the rocket ship exploded, hoping search and rescue would track him down and save him.

He scrounged thought the jungle, watching for pools of lava. He built a shelter in a tree and just before he went to sleep, it happened. It started to rain, but we can't have everything be normal. It started to pour buckets of lava down on the jungle. Though near the perimeter of the jungle there was regular rain. A drop of lava skimmed the scientist's arm, giving him a third degree burn. He quickly moved into the normal rain section and sat down, nursing his wound. He was so scared, sad, hurt, that John started to cry. He cried himself to sleep on the horrible, horrible island, hoping that one day he could go back to Earth and be a happy soul, not one covered in rain with his flesh melted away.

A/N: Hope you liked the first chapter. Anyone else feel sorry for John;-)
