"Come on BEm!" Emma sighed "I highly doubt that Tristan winked at you. I mean he doesn't even know which you are."

I let out a sigh as we continued to walk. I couldn't help but think about him. I mean I'm sure that every girl who laid their eyes on him would drool but with me it was entirely different. It wasn't like I was checking him out. I felt like I already knew him. His eyes were just golden and they connected with mine.

SNAP OUT OF IT!!I couldn't and and shouldn't be thinking this. I wasn't looking for anyone. Well not anytime soon tithe least. He probably had a perfect p prissy girlfriend anyway.

"Hey Amber! Emma! Wait up" we both turned to see a faint Mark running up behind us. I'd known Mark for about 3 years now. He had a lean body with slender muscles that were perfectly capable of doing damage. I'd seen it before. However, he wasn't in the jocks crowd he was too sincere for that. And he was my friend.

When he finally caught up to us he didn't say anything and neither did we. We just walked.my house was the first among the blocks we had to endure. I still don't understand why my parents won't just give me a car. Stubborn old-fashioned minds they had. I chuckled to myself at the thought of my parents when they were jy age. My momwith her teased hair, hammer pants and those logs they called shoes. I kinda liked the style I must say but I was perfectly fine with my dark blue skinny jeans and sweater.

We got to my doorstep in no time. I turned around to face Emma and Mark. "Bye guys! Catch you tomorrow yeah!" Bad with that I turned to trot up my cream stairs leading to the door.

"Hey Amber could I talk to you real quick?" Mark said, his face creased with nerves. I wonder what was going on. "Em you can go I'll catch up real quick" he raised his eyebrows and a sincere smile spread across his lips. She smiled and strolled down the sidewalk.

He took a few steps so he was close enough to whispers to me and have me receive the message clearly.

"Hi ummmm. Well you know our history assignment on Hitler anxious World War II?" He asked. I nodded swiftly. He looked really nervous.I've never seen him like this before. He continued speedily," Well there is a movie showing ab8utterances Anne Frank the Jewish girl front one of the concentration camps" he looked at me. I didn't respond right away I just let a smile appear on my face indicating for him to carry on. And so he did saying," So I was wondering if you would like to ummmm go and..."

"Ofcourse Mark." I cut him off. Although body gave the impression of him being a tough guy, MArk was really shy and I liked that. He wasn't cocky.

His face beamed as he started off away," So yes, I'll come pick you up at 8 yeah?" I nodded a smile still plastered over my face. And with those words he was off jogging, probably to catch up with Emma. It was no secret that Mark has a crush on me. He was really nice but I just wasn't ready for anything like that and he knew it. This is why he was my closest guy friend. He wasn't pushy.

I took a few rapid steps up the stairs in hopes that my parents wouldn't hear me. I was right they wouldnt hear me but that didn't stop them from showing up in front of me. As the turned the corner leading to my bedroom I saw my mom, the Principal of the most prestigious schools in Montana Cross Academy, yes her. She didn't seem to hear me come up the stairs. I quietly turned and took my first step when...

"Amber? Yes, darling come here why dont you?" She said.

I sighed at my efforts at escape.

"You''ve seen the new student haven't you? Tristan Scott? Well I'm sure you have. He's new to Plumtree, Montana." She looked up at me and saw my vacant expression, or what she thought was a vacant expression. I was thinking about this golden eyes again. Anyone would get lost in them. What washed getting at really? She huffed tame and continued anyway," I'd like you to please make him feel welcome here okay and considering you're my daughter I officially assign you as a member of the welcome committee."
