I sit at the Maze Runner table in the cafeteria with my best friend, Emma Fillios sitting beside me. The kids at our table talk with glader words and accents making it difficult for other fandoms to understand us. That's probably a good thing, that way no one can eavesdrop.

"That's nothing but a pile of klunk," Anna continues, talking to Jasmine who's our fandom's leader, "Just because all those shanks in the maze were guys, doesn't mean us shanks can ship them for no shuck reason!"

"The keeper of the runners and the ex-keeper. What in shuck name is wrong with that, shank? There has to be some buggin' love eyed boys in my fanfiction. It's just as much klunk to say I can't ship them." Jasmine nods and laughs, "Ain't I the shuckin' leader anyway?"

Anna frowns playfully. "Okay, but can't you ship the other two shanks in your story? That would make a ton more shuckin' sense."

I turn to Emma, slightly bored, and realize that she's looking mournfully at the Harry Potter fandom's table. We both love that fandom now. I glance around quickly as if my fellow students could hear my thoughts as easily as Thomas heard Teresa's. I'm being unloyal to my fandom, no one can like more fandoms then theirs, the one they first chose. Emma and I have been reading Harry Potter late at night when everyone in our dorm is asleep. I can sometimes see her flashlight beam under her blankets, on those nights when she's too intrigued to be careful and too interested to stop. Sometimes she reads on past midnight, loving every minute of it.

I don't remember much before Fandom High, but I always remember the rules. Never betray your fandom. Report the multi-fandom people. Don't get expelled. That's how simply it's put. That's all you need to do to live safe and happy here. The problem is, me and Emma love other fandoms. We love Maze Runner, Harry Potter, and Divergent and it's impossible to choose between them. I admit to having a slight interest in Percy Jackson too. The author's really creative. How could I think about this? Especially with my whole fandom and the school here eating breakfast. I glance across the cafeteria watching the other fandoms.

The people in the Hunger Games fandom are play fighting and giggling some of them pretending to be Effie saying "Happy Hunger Games, and may the odds be ever in your favor" in creepy voices, sending more giggles across the group. The Hunger Games isn't a bad book, it's actually really fun to read but I'm glad I didn't join their fandom. They giggle way too much for me.

The Frozen fandom that recently split out from the Disney fandom sings "Let It Go!" over and over again, causing surrounding tables to plug their ears. The Disney fandom sits nearby, pointing at the Frozen fandom and whispering. Ever since Frozen split from Disney, they've been enemies. All the Disney fans used to get along fine until Frozen was a thing. And of course, they split.

The Percy Jackson fandom are having a heated debate (that's escalating quickly) about whether it's better to be Zeus's kid or Poseidon's kid. It seems like the kids who are rooting for Poseidon are winning. I wonder why that is...

The One Direction fandom are "admiring" (I mean squealing and going crazy) pictures of One Direction. There's a girl in the corner muttering things like, "Zayn... G-Gone... out of O-O-One Direction." and sniffling. I hope she's not crying. There aren't any guys in the One direction fandom. The fandom has only one gender in it, just like the Illuminati fandom.

The Illuminati fandom is as weird as ever. They sit in groups of three with one guy across from two other guys to make a triangle shape. Yes, I said guys. They're no girls in the Illuminati fandom, even though girls could join if they wanted to. Some of them hum the Illuminati tune (or what I think is like their theme tune... whatever Illuminati is) while others make triangle shapes with their hands around their eyes. From what I gather the symbol of the Illuminati is a triangle with an eye in the middle. The Illuminati fandom is more of a laugh to the other fandoms, but they pretty much keep to themselves. No one really knows much about what they do.
