"Katy!" shouted someone from afar.
Katy turned around. There stood someone she knew all too well.
"What do you want?" she shouted back. "I'm busy now."
Katy was at the mall shopping for some expensive clothing when she was called out. In public, no less. She didn't want to make a scene, because, who knows? Someone might be watching.
The person who shouted for her attention went quiet and Katy noticed that. She just continued shopping. She wasn't a cruel person; she just didn't like putting attention onto herself.
Katy, an eighteen year old, almost nineteen, was a popular girl around these parts. Almost everyone knew her. Her five friends were the only ones she really trusted and cared about. Her mother, too.
Her father passed away many years previous to the story that happened that year. She hardly knew her dad. The only things she knew of him were that he was a soldier in the army and was killed in battle. She only saw pictures of him in the family photos and that's all she knew. She wished she had known her dad because he sounded awesome to her. A brave soldier of a dad, but her mom never spoke of him.
Katy kept on walking until she arrived at the exit to the mall and walked out. Upon arriving to her car, she was stopped suddenly by the ringing of her cellphone.
A/N: What do you like about the story so far? Where would you like me to go with this story instead of what I've written?
