Phil smiled as Dan scrolled through his Twitter feed.
"Phil why did you tweet about you being an "Overly Attached Wife"? We aren't married!" Dan said.
Phil blushed. "Erm... sorry Dan. I didn't think."
"No, no I like it. I like you taking care of me. It's what friends do, right." Dan said.
Phil smiled. "Right."
Phil watched Dan as he finished his soup, tipping the bowl back to drink the last drops. As he moved the bowl away from his mouth, Phil burst out laughing.
"Oh Dan!" Phil laughed. "You have a tomato soup moustache and it's all down your shirt!"
Dan looked down and blushed.
"It's alright, I'll get you a cloth." Phil said.
Phil took the tray back into the room and grabbed a cloth from the sink. He went back into Dan's bedroom and sat on the edge of his bed. He lovingly wiped the soup from his mouth and from his pyjama shirt.
"Right." Phil said, returning the cloth to the sink. "Medicine time."
Dan hated medicine. He couldn't swallow paracetamol and hated all adult medicine. The bitter taste made him shudder just thinking about it. Dan groaned at the thought of having to take the slimy brown mixture that was cough syrup.
"Okay, it says you need two spoonfuls of medicine every four hou-" Phil stopped when he saw Dan's shocked and worried face. "What's wrong?"
"I don't like taking medicine." Dan stuttered.
"Dan it isn't pills! It's liquid!" Phil replied, saddened by his friend's fear.
"No, I hate taking all medicine! I hate it!" Dan exclaimed, his chocolate eyes filling with tears.
"Aw Dan. It will be alright. I promise. And look at it this way: if you take it today, you proabbly won't need it tomorrow!" Phil said, trying to comfort the poor boy.
"Fine." Dan said. "I'll do it for you."
Phil's face was glowing as he poured the medicine on the spoon.
"Now open wide!" Phil said, babying Dan.
"It looks like the contents of a septic tank after Christmas dinner." Dan said, his face turning slightly green.
Phil laughed. "It won't taste that bad Dan. Promise. Do it for me! Now open wide!"
Dan obediantly opened his mouth and Phil popped the spoon in until Dan had swallowed. He watched Dan's face shrivel and turn green as he swallowed the mixture. Phil immediately handed Dan a glass of water which he drank instantly.
"Ew." Dan said.
"Well you'll be better in no time now! Are you tired?" Phil asked.
"Not really." Dan said before having another chesty coughing fit.
"Oh dear." Phil said. "Why don't I read you a story or something?"
Dan knew this would probably be considered "gay" but he didn't care. He smiled at Phil's thoughtful heart.
"Sure, get into bed next to me." Dan said as Phil snuggled under the covers with him. "Can you make up one, not read it."
"Why don't we read something that the Phandom have created?" Phil said, putting his arm around Dan.
"Okay, but no smut or depressing stuff. A happy one, if that even exists!" Dan smiled, questioning the sanity of his fandom.
"Yeah I could barely take reading the skin fic! Let alone any of the others!" Phil shuddered, the memories of those horrible fanfictions flooding his mind.
"You're such a lightweight!" Dan joked as he leant his head on Phil's shoulder. He really loved his best friend.
