Phil walked into the kitchen of the flat that he shared with his best friend. He reached the cabinets and pulled out only two of their many shared coffee cups, setting them onto the counter and pouring coffee into each one.

After he made each cup of hot coffee the way he and his best friend enjoyed them, he brought them into the lounge, handing one to the slightly younger boy before taking a seat beside him.

Dan was Phil's best friend. For years, they'd been joined at the hip. They changed each other's life for the best; Phil saving Dan from depression, and Dan saving Phil from loneliness.

Both enjoyed their lives very much, being successful and famous YouTubers, having each other to call a best friend, et cetera.

Although, neither were (surprisingly) dating anyone, and didn't really mind either.

Well, that's not exactly true.

Phil had a crush on Dan. And it'd been like this for about two years.

Phil, of course, had never said anything to Dan, in fear of ruining their friendship or being rejected, and so on.

Phil hated having hidden feelings for his best friend, more so wishing that they weren't hidden, but there was nothing he could do without putting what they already had in jeopardy.

So he pushed his feelings aside most of the time and willed them to go away, even though they never did.

The two watched an anime on their TV, sipping their coffee and not saying much, besides the occasional comment on the show.

A half an hour than he usually would, Dan got up, finished with the show. Phil was perplexed. Dan always watched anime until 1pm.

"Dan?" Phil questioned, setting his coffee aside and looking at his best friend, who was now leaving the lounge. "Dan, where are you going?"

Dan stopped, looking at his friend. "Oh, uhm, out-" Dan stated, rather awkwardly, Phil remarked. And then Dan was walking to the bathroom.

"Okay," Phil said to himself.

Fifteen minutes later, Dan was back in the lounge, with clean, straightened hair. He grabbed his keys and wallet before turning to leave.

"Dan," Phil said again, stopping Dan, causing him to sigh. "Can I ask where you're going?"

"Does it really matter?" Dan shot back, sighing once more. Phil was a bit taken aback. Shrugging and biting his lip, Phil looked down at the floor.

"I was just wondering," Phil muttered quietly.

"Oh, well, don't worry about it, I'll be back soon." With that, Dan left the lounge and then the entire flat.

With a sigh, Phil cleaned up their coffee cups and went to his room to change.
