Chapter 2
After yesterdays confusing confrontation with Aiden, I was just trying to avoid him. We had school today though, and this is another thing I did not get about moving either.
There were only one and a half months of school left.
I knew I would end up being a loner here too, though. I always was. I was just a person people didn't even bother with.
The rule was simple for me, though.
Keep your head down, avoid eye contact, and don't talk unless called on. It worked perfectly in my last school.
Let's just say my mom liked to moove a lot. Sometimes we even lived in hotels. It was rediculous. She just could never make up her mind.
I was up i the front of the line, sitting on a bench, waiting for the bus. Aiden plopped down next to me, and started the same conversation he had tried to start last night...
"Look... Aralyn, I don't know what tha-" I put a finger to his lips, and told him," Just stop... I know what your going to say!" I sounded kind of harsh, but it was too freaky to explain, and I just wasn't in the mood today.
"Fine." He said blankly, and then the bus came to my rescue.
I sat down with a kid that wasn't that bad looking, and he just looked at me, then out the window again.
"Hi." I said. He turned he head a little.
"Hello, nerd." I laughed, because I already knew how this was going to go between us. He would try to avoid me, and I would just ignore everyone.
"Why hello, douche." He chuckled slightly.
"My kinda girl... My name's Damon." He stuck his hand out akwardly, but I shook it.
"You're not worried about talking to me, at all?" He laughed. "Your not the only outcast, honey. Aiden has made sure only his little group of jock's is popular..."
I froze.
"Wait... Aiden?" I said slowly, and curiously. "Uhm, yes. Complete douche. Total player." I laughed because it sounded like a total 'me' thing to say.
I was now feeling a little less stress about my next month or two here, because I had a friend!
He seemed nice too. Not judgemental, nice, sweet, toned, and muscley, but not like the freakin' hulk. I laughed at my own pun, and he looked at me confused, and I waved my hand to just tell him it was nothing.
~_~
We got to school, and as soon as I walked in, I was getting gawked at, and critizied. "Look at her jeans. Nasss-ty." Some girl said.
Then some about my hair. Where I came from. Seeing me with Damon.
Than I saw Aiden out of the corner of my eye, and I walked up to him. He looked right past me the whole time.
I said his name, and the only thing I got from that boy, was...
"Just leave me alone!" Then he paced off, and I wanted to run away.
How could he be so nice, then so mean, for no reason?! Screw him. How did I know my first day would get ruined somehow?
~_~
I made it though my first day, pretty good, and made a few friends, which is an improvement from my last school.
When I got off the bus Aiden grabbed my arm, and pulled me to the front of him. It burnt so bad, but faded when he let go.
"What gives you the right to grab my arm like that? You don't own me!" I said angrily.
He huffed, and started to walk away, but right before he did, he said. "Just no speaking to me in school. I have a reputation to keep. You wont help me do that."
I felt a tear from in my eye, and wiped it away, and began to walk away slwoly, and sadly.
How could he say that to me...
He felt so important to me, like his opinion of me really mattered, but I just didn't understand.
I couldn't.
