We stood for hours, watching our home burn to the ground. A rush of panic went through me. My parents. My parents' picture, the only part of them I had left, was in my room. Tears filled my eyes, and my heart wrenched. I puked. Elijah patted my back, knowing why I was puking. He knew how much that picture meant to me.

"We... We need to find the Headmaster." Skye choked out. As one of the oldest students of Shadow House, Skye felt the loss the most. I could see it in her eyes. She had lost her only home. Felix and Sophia held the same expression.

We left the mountain to head for the school. The Headmaster was surprisingly still in his office. Skye rushed up to him and hugged him.

"They burned it down!" I heard a few murmurs questioning who 'they' were. But, I knew. "How did they know? Who would have told them?" The Headmaster thought for a long while.

"Edgar." He said finally, rushing to the phone.

"No." Skye whispered. "He... He can't be back! I.... No." She said sternly.

"Who's Edgar?" I heard Elijah whisper to Felix.

"Skye's brother." Felix responded blankly. Skye whirled on him.

"That traitor is no brother of mine."

"Traitor?" I asked quietly. Skye's face saddened.

"He killed our mother, the old Headmaster. Murdered her for a group of traitors who only wanted the program to die." Murmurs went through the room again, and Skye realized what she had just done. "I... I'm sorry, Headmaster." She pleaded. "We must tell them now. It is better if they know." People looked around confusedly. Sofia and Felix glanced at each other. Elijah looked at me.

"Tell us what?" I heard someone say. And so, they retold the story that I had heard only a short while ago.

"Long ago, the gods decided that, someday, their reign would end. So, each of them chose one child, and that child would reincarnate each time they died, until the Earth was in need of saving. Thirteen years ago, the previous Headmaster opened a school for children who, to put it bluntly, should be dead under normal circumstances. When a child enters Shadow House, it means that something about them is different from the others. A certain air, or an Aura. Kids study different gods and goddesses there, to find out which god is your 'parent', or creator. Mine," Skye explained. "Is Zeus, god of the sky, and thunder. Felix's is Hades, king of the Underworld. Sofia's is Poseidon, god of the sea. Katherine's," everyone looked at me. "Is Athena. Artemis, the girl who goes to the normal high school, is the daughter of, you guessed it, Artemis." I hadn't known before that Artemis knew. That made me happy, for some reason. I heard people murmuring again. Elijah just looked at me. He was hurt that I hadn't told him. "The people I was talking about earlier call themselves Titans. Their goal and purpose is to kill all the reincarnations of the children of the gods. We are known to them as Elias' Children. Elias was the first of the gods' children. I am his reincarnation." No one spoke. No one moved. Some kids' mouths were hanging open, some just looked really confused. I cleared my throat, breaking the silence.

"So what are we doing to stop the Titans?"

"Why didn't you tell me?!" Elijah outraged when we got out of the Headmaster's office. "How could you not? If I knew something like that, I would tell my best friend!" He yelled.

"You know that I would have if I could've. But, I couldn't, so drop it, Eli." I begged. He shook his head.

"I can't forgive this. You kept who I was from me. How could you expect me to excuse that?"

"I never asked you to! I only told you to forget it. Leave, or don't leave. Just do something." I countered, Turing and leaving him to his thoughts. Felix stood around a corner. "I guess you heard then?" I asked impatiently.

"Yeah." He blushed. "Sorry, I just-"

"No, it's fine. We were loud enough that anyone could hear us."

"I'm sorry." He blurted.

"What?"

"I'm sorry you had to keep it from him. It isn't fair. It is partially my fault that you had to lie to him." He said softly. It was the first time I'd heard sympathy in his voice. "I'm really sorry." I believed him.

"It is fine." I smiled. "Come on, let's go to the cafeteria for some food." I snuck a glance back at the corner. Elijah stood defiantly, with his head against the wall. He looked like a scorned prince. It made me remember why I had fallen in love with him. He met my gaze as I walked away. Something there told me he was done with me. I would be fine, but Elijah could be reckless sometimes. I hoped he would find someone who would mellow out his temper. I realized that I had stopped walking.

"Katherine?" Felix asked, sounding genuinely concerned.

"I'm fine." I smiled again. "Let's get some food." I said, stealing one last glance at Elijah, but he was gone. Sadness washed through me, but what did I expect? I shook my head, and focused on the future. How were we going to counter attack the Titans, I wondered.
