We go to Panera and I get some chicken noodle soup. Roland gets some Mac and cheese. We update our snapchat story.
"8:57."
"Wow."
We sit in Panera on our phones for a while. We finally decide to leave and we go to my favorite place. The cliff. It's a little ways away from my house. It looks over the whole city.
We get there, and I smile. I almost never smile, unless if I'm here. This place is just, different than any other old cliff. I don't know exactly what it is.
We climb up and we lie down on the small patch of grass. I look up. It's like music to my ears. This place is my safe place.
Roland and I sit there. We sit there for a long time. We talk about life, and how things just don't make sense. He's the only person I know who understands that.
I always look for constellations. My favorite one is Orion. It just interests me. I don't know why. I don't know why a lot of things happen. Neither does Roland. People normally think I'm crazy, but then there's him. He understands me. That's why he's my best friend.
I hear my phone buzz. It's Desiree. She's one of my friends. She's my only friend that I have in school, since I don't have many classes with Roland.
Desiree: hey bitch
I roll my eyes. I hate when she's like this. She thinks she's so innocent and nice but in reality she's a slutty ass hoe who dates multiple guys at the same time.
Me: what
Desiree: nothing I'm just bored you dumbass
I turn off my phone. I can't stand her. I guess Roland noticed the feeling of rage across my face.
"Desiree again?"
I shake my head. "She needs Jesus."
We start laughing. This are the things I love.
