Hailey^^^^

I'm stuck in piano class and it's really noisy here

I was chilling at the park waiting for my best friend, Nisha Vallie.

I invited her to hang out, and she asked if she could bring a friend. I had agreed, and now I was waiting.

I finally saw her walking up to me, looking extremely irritated at the boy with her, who also had brown hair. He was wearing a mischievous smile that made me want to hide all my valuables.

"Hi, Nisha!"I greeted.

"Hi, Hailey."she smiled glumly. "This is my arse of a boyfriend, Connor Stoll."

I gasped. "You never told me you had a boyfriend!"I said.

"Don't talk about me as if I wasn't here!"protested Connor.

"Quiet, Stoll."said Nisha coldly.

"What happened?"I asked, concerned.

"He pranked Yssa again and this time it was too extreme."she sighed.

"Yssa? As in Yssa Ryder?" I questioned. She was 1/3 of our squad.

"Yeah."she answered.

"Hey, it was Travis' idea, and we never meant to go that far!"protested Connor.

"Connor, Travis' idea or not, the damage has been done."she sighed, and I recognised her expression. She was near tears. Whatever they had done must've been really big.

"Connor, a private word."I said, and dragged him off.

"What?"he asked, once we were out of Nisha's earshot.

"Nisha is very protective over her friends. She doesn't anyone to mess with them."I began, then took a deep breath.

"When we were sophomores, I had fallen for a boy. I really, really liked him. He liked me back. We started dating. I fell in love......"I said, near tears.

"On Valentines' Day, he cheated on me. He said never loved me, and threw me out."

"I was heartbroken. Severely. Nisha was so mad she broke his arm. She threatened she would kill him even."I said.

He spoke. "I understand. We really didn't mean it to be that extreme."he muttered.

I smiled weakly. "I believe you. Apologise to her, and Yssa too. Give her chocolate ice cream. She'll forgive you."I suggested.

His eyes lit up. "Thanks."he said.

I laughed. "Anything to make her happy."I said.

"So....you approve?"he asked.

"Of what?"I asked.

"Our relationship."he answered.

"Oh."I said. "Only if you don't break her heart."

He nodded. "Of course. I'd never."

"Good."I said. "Believe me, a broken heart is really hard to piece back together."

"So.....have you pieced yours back?"he asked.

My words stuck in my throat.

"No."I admitted quietly.

He nodded sympathetically. "I'm sorry."he said, as if unsure if that's what he was supposed to say.

It felt real, genuine, not just a throw away sorry. I smiled.

"It's okay. Don't sweat it. Being single is quite fun anyway."I said, trying to sound upbeat.

The truth was, I wasn't likely to forget the past. I was always looking back, hoping for a chance to fix it all.

He stared at me, like he was seeing past my facade and saw all my heartbreak and self-pity.

"Ok. Let's go back."he said, and we walked back.

We had a fun day, and Connor did buy Nisha ice cream and a new book. She did forgive him, and by the end of the day, they left me alone.

Alone.

Like always.

Is this the end of Hailey's story? To be honest, even I'm not sure. Her story is within me and I don't want to share it all with the world. She has too much raw heartbreak and sorrow.
